Ice to Fire

Your arms are open to me
What have I done to deserve this?
My heart has been rolled
away,
time and again I've investigated
my own course.
I've been a cavern encased in Ice
I've dismissed your will and
scratched out an existence of
fear and loneliness.
My frigid soul has been cracked.
Cold fingers of bitterness and
hate have held fast.
Your pure love has dared to
attempt the ice field of my heart.
you melt the frost within
It doesn't matter what course
has previously been attempted
your slaughter caused the iniquity
to disappear.
even future trespasses
Your torch has swept through
my grotto melting the ice
My heart's gone from ice to fire.
It's and enduring process
to reach each crevice
But you've declared to finish
may this flame ever burn
Refining my heart in a righteous
fire of love
