Betrayal's Kiss
I stand jaded with jealousy
by betrayals bitter kiss
heart encrypted in ice
glazed over from subzero promiscuity
I was the color in your sky
you were the sun in mine
But your sky must have dimmed
because you stole the sun
causing me to wither
when did nights chill fill your heart
what caused you to lock me tight
you’ve brought a tornado of hate and rage withering
I want to believe your lies that fall
like petals from a poisonous flower
that you give to me
you’ve banished me to fire
but like the phoenix, I will rise
My strength will beat inside
until I see you face to face
my defenses falls like Jericho
you’ve caused me pain
but yet my heart still loves
Acid tears burn streams through
my heart
Dreams of you terrorize my nights
When will I be liberated from
These chains of Depression
I pray to the Guard of time
for an early release
But for now the clock bangs out
it’s hours, minutes, seconds
in a slow pattern
and I’m left to the rhythm of my breathing
