Chapter 7 - Early Release

As the garage door slammed shut, Rydell jumped and pointed his weapon at the man who shut it. Mr. Coffee put his hand on the gun and pushed it down.

“Whoa there, Rydell. He’s with us.”

The newcomer turned around and ran to the two other demons and the human. At first glance, he looked like a street punk, complete with neon green spiked hair and a large assortment of piercings. It wasn’t until Rydell noticed the blue streak that circled around him that Rydell realized that the punk was a demon.

The punk looked back at the door with a worried look, then turned back to the group. “Wehaveaverybadthingthat’saboutotgodownhere. Wehavetomove.”

Rydell shook his head. “Was that even English?”

Wrench walked to stand next to the punk as she spoke. “Rydell, this is Babel, demon the third in our area. Babel, this is Rydell, the UV.”

Babel waved his arms frantically. “Don’thavetimeforpleasantries, we-have-to-move. Twoangelsarebackintownandthey’reontheirwayhererightnow.”

Mr. Coffee jumped up off his stool picked up a nearby tire iron. “We have to move.”

            Babel smirked. “That’swhatI’vebeensayingthewholetime.”
