The following study is one that I am currently doing for the teen girls Sunday School class at my church. It is actually on the Armour of God. You are welcome to use these for a study in your own Sunday School class. Thank you for visiting Christian Ladies' Journal!

A look at the amour of God
Part 1
1. How important is the armour to you?
2. Do you put it on every day?
3. Should you put it on everyday?
4. Does it make any difference?
5. Are you under attack by the enemy?
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Eph 6:10,11)
Christians are engaged in a spiritual conflict with evil. (Satan, the Devil, the father of lies) This spiritual conflict is described as a warfare of faith that continues until they enter the life to come.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." (2Tim 4:7-8 )
"(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)" (2Cor 10:4)
"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:" (1Tim 1:18-19)
"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses." (I Timothy 6:12)
The believers victory has been secured by Christ himself thru Christ’s death on the cross. Jesus waged a triumphant battle against Satan, disarmed the evil powers and authorities led captives in his train and redeemed the believer from Satan’s power.
"And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." (Col 2:15)
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" (Col 1:13-14 ).
At the present time Christians are involved in a spiritual warfare that they wage by the power of the Holy Spirit against the sinful desires within themselves against the ungodly pleasures of the world and temptations of every sort and against satan and his forces.
"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." (James 1:14-15)
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." (1John 2:15-16 )
" Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;" (I Peter 2:11)
Believers are called on to separate themselves from the present world, hating its evil, overcoming and dying to its temptations, and condemning openly its sin.
" For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." (1 John 5:4 )
"The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil." (John 7:7 ).
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." (II Corinthians 6:17)
Christian soldiers must wage war against all evil, not in their own power but with spiritual weapons.
"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" (2 Col 10:3-5 )
"For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD." (2 Cor 3:10-18)
In their warfare of faith Christians are called on to endure hardships like good soldiers of Christ , suffer for the gospel, fight the good fight of faith, wage war, persevere, conquer, be victorious, Triumph, defend the gospel, contend for the faith, not be frightened by opponents, put on the full armour of God, stand firm, destroy satans strongholds, take captive every thought, and become powerful in battle.
"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (2Tim 2:3)
"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." (Mat 5:10-12)
"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." (Rom 8:17)
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" (2 Tim 4:7 )
"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."
(Rom 8:37 )
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. "
(1 Cor 15:57 )
Thank the Lord we have someone who can help us fight off the devil. In the next weeks we are going to learn about the different amour of God, how using them can help us, how important the armour is to you, how often you need to put it on, why you should wear this amour, and the difference this armour can make. Ladies, we are under attack by this old world and it’s leader, Satan, and we must be ready for battle when the times arise. We can not jump out of this service for if we do we are giving ourselves to Satan to finish us off!
