After the attacks of September 11, you couldn't exist one minute without seeing an average of 2 or 3 American flags per person. You couldn't walk 10 steps down the street without stumbling upon a friendly, smiling face extending a warm "Hello neighbor".
It's my opinion that before September 11, America's spirit was weak. But on that fateful day, America was reborn. It took alot of pain, sacrifice, and healing, but the spirit of America is like a newborn baby. We are learning to live again and we have a newfound sense of love, friendship, and neighboorly devotion to, not just the people on our block or in our town, but to people across the country. And just like any birth, out of pain, anxiety, and sacrifice, comes a miracle. Now the American spirit is truly alive, and it gleams with such an overwhelming pride that surely nothing could ever kill it.
