This sea gull is on the wrong side of the Atlantic!

'Dunbeg' is a sea cliff fort built at the foot of Mount Eagle. This fort was used from BC 580 to 990 AD.

A refuge of last resort during Celtic invasions.

Made of nothing but dry rock, the Gallarus Oratory is believed to be the oldest place of Christian worship still intact in Western Europe. It is still waterproof, even at over 1,300 years old.

This stone carving (next to Gallarus) is believed to have been erected between the 6th and 9th centuries.
