Kaa-cheeeeeeeee-nahhh

I don't know why but I am not all together comfortable with the traditional spelling of Kachina.. so I have spelled it in the sounds that it came to me as... with the long sounding e

I was giving this word when I asked the title of the one who gave me the Great Vision... In the beginning I had no title to give her and so I called her an Indian Princess... At the time, being born and raised to walk within the White Man's world, it was the highest honor I knew how to pay her.  Later there were those who complained and were hurt by the word 'princess' as it reminded them of their wounded spirit.  Not wanting to be one who poured salt upon a wound I asked to be given her title and this is the word that came to me.  It traveled a great distance to reveal itself to me, first being heard as a whisper, and then becoming more audible as it drew closer to me.

In my search to understand what a Ka-chee-na is, I came across some words that I understood.. It was said that a Ka-chee-na is a spirit guide....

I find it very comforting to see her as a spirit guide...
