« Gorean Chat is it role-play? »

Gorean Chat is one-fifth the people who come into it. One-fifth the people Yahoo lets into it and three-fifth's role play.

There are people who will argue that the Gorean rooms are not role play and that the Gorean rooms that ARE role play would not and will not be allowed to be associated with us.

but in my mind I don't see how anyone can feel that way! I am a slave when I go into the chat rooms and that means that I must behave on my best behavoir. Not just as I am in life, but a step above that. (role playing). I go into the rooms and I beg to enter then crawl to the slave mats (role playing). Once I've greeted everyone I can now go up to the Master's and Mistress's and beg to be used (role playing) Sooner or later one of the Free will be hungry or thristy (RP) and ask for me to get them something from the kitchen. I do in a long detailed serve before moving on to bed yet another if I may serve them. (RP).

I don't think I can name the last time I was in a chat room and actually chatted with someone. With the exception of a few Master's who want mental stimulation of a non sexual kind.

My point being that the whole experience in a normal Gorean chat room is role play for a slave.

Now I would never assume to be able to know a Free person's mind (insert here the pretty pouty lips and eyes fluttering lol) but I think most of the Free are the same way. They come online and they chat, but they only chat with a few selected. And within this chat is an accepted amount of role play.

How can anyone look at a gorean chat room and say it's not role play. I have seen honor battles fought over these arguments. Whether they prove themselves right then by having a written out honor battle or just swore at each other for an hour, the winner is not always clear and the loser never knows. Either way it's still yet another form or role play, so in truth they argue with themselves as they do the very thing they claim not to do.

but the main thing I can't understand is this; why do they get so upset if you suggest it's role play? The whole idea came from one man's head, John Norman and has no ties to the "real world". With a foundation like that, how can it ever be anything but role play and fantasies?
