The Trip
Part 3-Conclusion
Lucas’ trip to Wilmington was uneventful but he kept his mind busy thinking about Mandy. When he arrives at her place she has dinner ready and he is starved so after a few kisses they eat right away. She keeps staring at him during the meal, just glances but he notices at one point they both burst out laughing.
“Sorry, I just can’t believe you are finally here,” she says grinning.
“I can’t believe it either,” he replies putting down his fork.
He tells her how good the meal is as they settle down on the couch to watch TV.
She tells him about the places she wants him to see as he stares at her lips; she bites them and grins.
“Are you listening?” she asks pushing him and laughing.
He wets his lips and leans in to kiss her; probing her mouth with his tongue, she presses her tongue against his as the kiss deepens.
After a few minutes of kissing Mandy snuggles under his arm and he holds her close as they continue to talk about what they should do on his visit. The phone rings and Mandy picks it up after a few rings.
“Hey Jen, yes, he is here, want to say hi?”
Lucas takes the phone.
“Hi, yes I am happy to finally be here, see you then,” he says.
He gives the phone back to Mandy and she says goodbye.
Mandy tells him all about her best friend, Jennifer Reed, who lives in apartment across town. Jen was hoping to come by with her boyfriend and visit for a while. Mandy left it up to Lucas to decide and he thought it was a good idea.
When Jen and her new boyfriend, Ross show up they bring movies and microwave popcorn. So after the hellos are said they pop in Mandy’s favorite DVD How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. Lucas hasn’t seen the movie but he loves it, especially since Mandy is so unlike the type portrayed in the flick. He and Ross get along really well, he is high school jock but he doesn’t seem to be full of himself the way Nathan had been when they first met. They decide they will all meet for dinner the next night and they leave Mandy’s about twelve-thirty the next morning.
Lucas offers to sleep on the couch despite the fact that he really wants to be in Mandy’s bed. They compromised and they both slept on top of the covers with their pj’s on. Lucas holds her all night. The next morning Lucas wakes up and Mandy is straddling him taking off her top.
Lucas helps her with her top and she takes off his bottoms. They lay naked on the bedspread kissing knowing inside it is a very bad idea. Lucas’ phone rings and he notices it is after eight-thirty. He picks it up when he sees its Keith.
“You behaving, nephew,” he asks laughing.
“Great timing Keith,” Lucas says.
Keith could hear Mandy laughing in the background.
After Lucas hangs up he saw Mandy standing at the end of the bed looking unsure of herself; he just waved her over. She climbs up beside him on the bed. He can see she is upset.
“The fact is I think I am falling for you and I’ll be here when you’re ready, okay,” he says.
She continues to smile at him as he takes her hand, “I feel the same way,” she says finally.
They leave for lunch and a mini tour that Mandy narrates for her captive audience. They visit local landmarks and a park before they get stuck in a downpour and head back to the apartment. After the rain shower things get heavy while they are drying off. They take turns toweling each other off and Lucas finds it amusing getting the water out of her navel. Mandy finds it funny that he can seem to get all of himself dry. They start giggling and end up kissing.
When they do make love Mandy seems to be really different, she more relaxed and happier, than earlier; Lucas is glad that they waited. Lying beside her when they are done; he is suddenly talkative.
“I don’t know that I told you but my first time was with one of my mother’s friends; I think they have a name for it since I was underage but it's not like I was going to run tell my mom, you know,” he says.
“She still doesn't know, her friend, was a very deceitful person and I wasn’t willing to tell anyone until now, personally she showed me quite a few things my mother will never have a reason to find out about,” he explains with a sly grin.
“Do you want to talk about your first?”
Mandy tells him about a guy she dated in high school, someone she believed would love her forever and she had given herself to him happily to find out he was only doing it because his buddies bet him he couldn’t get her in bed.
“In the end I found out it was a racial thing.”
“I’m sorry that happened to you,” he said holding her closer.
“I guarantee you being with you today is all about my feelings for you.”
That night at dinner with Jen and Ross' they have a good time. After dinner they go to a local hang out to play pool and talk. Jen tells Mandy that Lucas is really hot and she can tell he really likes Mandy. Ross and Lucas shoot pool while the girls talk.
Back at the apartment Lucas is glad he has a few more days to stay but Mandy has work the next day so he will have to amuse himself while she is gone.
“I loved being with you earlier; but I want our relationship to be more than physical,” he says holding her closely.
“It was really nice and I look forward to our next time; but I want more from our time together,” she says snuggling closer to him.
“Just being here with you is a pleasure like sex,” he says.
“I was thinking the same thing,” she responds after kissing him and putting her head on his chest.
They decide that week that Mandy should move to Tree Hill since her classes will be ending soon. He will find them an apartment so they can live together while they save money for their own little house. She thinks it is a great idea, since wants Lucas to be her future.
