ACROSTIC=poetic form that uses each letter of Hebrew alphabet to start next line of verse.  EX:  Psalms 119 each section of 8 verses have subsequent letters of the alphabet.  1st has A (Aleph..first letter of alphabet), 2nd has B (beth...2nd letter of alphabet)...and on to tau the last letter.  The whole book of Lamentations is an acrostic.
