Challenge - E-mail

Joey wiped his eyes and looked at the screen, not knowing what to say. He looked over at his daughter, who was fast asleep in her crib. He wasn't sure if he should write the letter because the keys could wake her up. But JC said `if you don't tell Chris you've been in love with him since before NSYNC started, I will take your daughter and keep her until you finally tell him.' He had tried to get Lance to plead with JC but Lance had already made plans so this is where Joey was now.

Joey looked at the postcard Chris had written him. He was in Orlando right now and Joey had to head for Fame the next day so he was okay for now. He sighed.

Chris,

I know I should have told you this years ago but the fear in my heart basically kept me from saying anything. Justin pretty much figured it out, JC and Lance caught me and you…you never noticed and really I don't see how you did.

What I am trying to say is that…I love you. I'm in love with you. I know I should have said something but I never knew what the right words were. I know I should be telling you in person but I am really freaked out. JC and Lance pretty much threatened to take Brianna until I told you but they are not the reason I am telling you this.

I'm telling you this because I want you to be a part of my life and Brianna's life. I've seen you with her when she was a baby and you are so wonderful with her. You make her laugh and you love to play with her. And even though we're both growing into boring old men, I'm sorry, you never cease to make me laugh every time you make a joke and you never keep me from smiling when you rock her to sleep.

I don't want to scare you, Chris. I just wanted you to know how I felt. Get back to me, please? I love you.

Joey sighed and got up to go to bed after sending the e-mail.

The next day, Joey flew out to Fame after dropping Brianna off with Lance and JC, making sure to tell them that he e-mailed Chris. JC said he should have called or something but Joey was too scared.

After the show, Joey was resting his eyes and he had changed out of his suit. He really didn't know what Chris would see in someone so big as him but Justin used to crush on him until he found Wade so he wasn't scared to ask Justin.

"Uh…you were hot."

"Why did you think that?"

"Oh Joey…I'll get back to you in another lifetime okay?"

Joey just didn't talk to him.

Joey heard a knock on the door and sighed. "Come in." He said as he went to the mirror. He saw the door open and his jaw dropped as the mirror image of Chris holding his baby daughter in his arms walked in.

"I got your e-mail."

Joey turned around and saw that Brianna was sleeping peacefully and Chris was holding her protectively.

"What did you think?"

Chris smiled and set Brianna down on the couch before going to Joey.

"You know…I would have liked to hear from it face to face." He said with a smile. "Instead you made my bad day better by sending me the e-mail."

Joey blushed. "I'm glad."

"I love you too you big goof. I always have."

Joey sighed in relief. "Thank God."

"And I would love to be part of Brianna's and your life."

Joey smiled. "I couldn't ask for anything else." He leaned down and kissed Chris' lips softly. Chris put his hands on his cheeks and held him close.

"Oh and I enjoyed the subject line."

"What? Oh yeah." Joey chuckled before Chris kissed him.
