Challenge - Shampoo
Joey was busy mopping the floor and marveling at how Justin was able to keep Brianna calm when she was always clinging to him like second skin.
Lance smiled as he headed out for his date with JC. "Told ya Joe, he has a gift."
Joey flipped him off before going back to work. He was so intent on his work he didn't notice the new customer until he heard his name.
He looked up and smiled. "I'm sorry sir, can I help you?" Joey was captivated by his eyes.
"Hi. I was wondering, do you have the new Dove shampoo?"
Joey cursed mentally. "I'm sorry, we should have it tomorrow."
"Okay, thank you. I'm Chris by the way."
Beautiful name.
"I'm Joey."
He laughed softly. "I know. Nice to meet you Joey."
"You too." He regretted letting him go.
The next day, Joey was holding Brianna and letting her put some things on shelves while Lance took pictures and Justin applauded. JC stood to the side, smiling.
"Okay we have to go. Come on sexy." Lance took JC's hand and led him out.
Justin chuckled. "I have to go to the cash register." He headed off.
Joey waved and so did Brianna. Joey chuckled.
He looked over and saw Chris, smiling.
"Hey Chris. Sorry no shampoo today."
"That sucks. Hello there, sweetie."
Brianna smiled and blushed.
Joey smiled. "This is my daughter, Brianna."
"Wow, she's beautiful. Your wife must be proud."
"Actually, I'm not married. It was kind of a drunken thing. We agreed to be friends and raise her seperatly."
"Ah. Well, I'll come by later, check on my shampoo." m
Joey laughed and watched him go with a sigh.
For the next two weeks, Chris would come by and his talks with Joey got longer until he eventually would be there an hour and would meet Joey's friends, Justin, Lance and JC.
Finally, in the middle of the third week, the shampoo arrived. Chris came by, got it and didn't come back. Joey was heartbroken. But he didn't let Lance see that or Lance would go after Chris.
One day later, Brianna was sitting on the floor while Joey put bottles of shampoo away when a familiar voice spoke.
"I was hoping you'd be here."
Joey looked up and into Chris' eyes.
"Hi."
"Hi."
Chris gulped. "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"Not coming."
Joey smiled. "Why would I be upset?"
"I felt it. Joey?"
"Yeah?"
Chris helped him stand and held onto his hand tightly. "If I asked you out, would you hit me?"
Joey smiled. "No."
Chris sighed in relief. "Joey, will you go out with me?"
"I'd love to."
Chris smiled and he shared a kiss with Joey, right in the very spot they first met.
