Challenge - Darkness
Joey Fatone could feel the darkness close all around him. He hadn't turned on a light since the day Chris was taken away from him. Everything around him reminded him of his lover. Joey could feel the tears burn in his eyes. He felt so alone. Sure, the other guys came by and called. His mind knew that. He just wished that someone would explaine it to his heart.
"Oh baby...Why did they take you away from me?"
He starred into the darkness and remembered the day his world ended.
*Flashback*
Joey and Chris were comming home from a night out. They had went to dinner and to a club. It had been the best date they had ever been on.
When they got home. Chris noticed the front door was open.
"Joe baby, Did you lock the door when we left?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Cuz the door is open."
"Maybe it blew open."
Chris raised an eyebrow suspicially.
"Blew open with a dead bolt ? Come on hun. Someone is in our house."
"Maybe we should call the cops Chris?"
"Why? They have probally gone."
"What if they haven't? You could get really hurt!"
Chris coudl hear the pain in Joey's voice.
"Nothing is going to happen to me baby."
Chris pulled Joey close and kissed him.
"I love you Joseph."
"I love you Christopher."
Chris held Joey's hand tightly as they walked into their house.
"Who's there!" Chris yelled.
Nobody answered.
"I guess nobosy is here."
Just then Chris and Joey were pushed forward and pulled apart.
"Chris!"
"Joey!"
Both of there arms were pinned behind them.
"Hello boys.I understand that the two of you are fucking queers."
"Yeah...and?" Chris asked, the hatred very present in his voice.
"Well...We don't like your kind around here."
"Well get over it."
"How about no."
The guy taking to Chris punched him in the stomach. Chris groaned and fell to his knees.
"CHRIS!"
Joey fought against the men holding him back.
"S...Stay back Joey." Chris weezed out.
They guys picked Chris off of his knees.
"Had enough yet?"
Even in the darkness, Joey could still see the brown eyes he loved so much. He could also see the fire in his eyes. Chris looked up at the man and spit in his face.
"Fuck off."
The man snapped his fingers and more men appeared. Joey became frantic to break away.
"Chris, LOOK OUT!!"
The men jumped on Chris. The punched and kicked him til he couldn't stand anymore.
"Chris...Chris..Baby answer me!"
"Joey..." A voice responded weakly.
Then someone picked up Chris and turned Chris toward Joey. Chris's face was brused and cut open. The blood flowed from a split lip.
"Baby..." Joey's voice was wracked with sobs,
"Let this be a lesson to you. No fags are welcome here."
The men dropped Chris. Joey was still trying to break away men.
He watched in horror as a the man in front of Chris pulled out a gun and shot Chris in the chest.
"CHRIS!!!!"
Joey broke away and ran to Chris. He cradled Chris in his arms.
"Baby...oh baby."
"Joey..."
"I'm right here baby. I'm here."
When joey looked up the men were gone.
"I got to get you help baby."
"Joey...Can you just hold me?"
That sent a shiver through Joey.
"I am baby."
"I can't feel it."
"I'll make them pay. I'll make those mother fuking sons of bitches pay for this."
"Baby..I'm getting cold."
Joey ran his hands up and down Chris's arms.
"Baby...Baby you can't leave me. Don't leave me in the darkness."
"What...."
"You were the light in my life. Please don't leave me in the darkness."
"I...I love you Joseph Fatone."
Joey fought back the tears. Chris only called him his full name on two occasions. When they were intimet and when something bad happened.
"Baby..."
"Tell me you love me...Please?"
The pleading tone was too much for Joey. He broke down and burried his head in Chris's shoulder.
"I love you. I love you so much. Don't leave me."
Chris wasn't moving and Joey knew that Chris had died.
He cried like his heart was broken. Because he knew that it was. And it could never be fixed again.
*End flashback*
Joey wiped his eyes. He knew that he couldn't live without Chris. He no longer fieared hell. Hell was life without Chris.
He took a single peace of paper and wrote two lines on it.
'Darkness is all around me. Someone took my light.'
He looked up at the cealing and put a gun to his head.
"I want my light back.'
Then he pulled the trigger.
