Michael was fun to home school. He learned quickly with the one-to-one teaching that home schooling made possible. He loved stories, he was cooperative, and interested. He was so very fascinated by his twin sisters' Kindergarten when he was four, that he begged to join us. So I bought him a K-4 curriculum, and just let him have fun with it. He watched his sisters, and enjoyed himself thoroughly, learning all the while.
Below is Michael's Kindergarten picture, the next year.

Michael asked Jesus into his heart when he was five years old. He knew what it meant to ask Jesus to forgive his sins, and stay with him all his life, helping him to be good, and taking him to Heaven some day. He knew about death already, as his brother Travis had died only two months before; so it was very real to him, concerning the fact that his spirit would leave his body if he died before Christ comes to get us, and he would instantly go to be in the presence of Jesus. In Heaven, where all is joy. He wondered if he would miss us, if he got there first. First I assured him that since he was not born with a very severe handicap like his brother Travis, he would probably live to be a very old man. However, I also told him that he would not miss us, while he waited for us, because the Bible says there is no sorrow in Heaven, and no tears. He was satisfied. He was the youngest child of mine, that I ever led to Christ, but he was ready. He understood about sin, God's forgiveness, death, and Heaven. He understood many things better than most five year olds. He was a serious, earnest child. He wanted to please God, and he was an obedient child of mine, and of God's. That was a glorious day.
Michael and his brother Matthew loved going places with their adult sister Noelle. She took them camping, and to the arboretum, and ever so many places. She also took pictures, which was wonderful for me!

I have much more to write. I'm working on several of my children's stories at once, right now, as the pretty pages get created for me. I love my son so very dearly. Michael is finishing up high school, and just buying his own first car. Life holds many possibilities for my precious son, and I am eager to see how it unfolds for him. I'll write more later.
