The Bachelor V 04/22/04
By Wendy Thompson

Q. You see, A.T. this is one of the things that makes me upset! What else does Jesse need to realize Trish is not quite what he believes? I thought he was sending her home today!

A. All right, Wendy, take a deep breath. There is an explanation for everything in life. I am just giving you an educated guess, but I would say all these series have turned out to be 70% soap opera and 30% reality. You will probably call me a cynic, but I feel the "much hated and highly vulgar" Trish is providing too much drama to be sent home so early. With all the attention Trish is receiving, and after constantly hearing the voiceovers repeating, "Will Trish stay or will she be sent home today?" I ABSOLUTELY KNEW, halfway into the show, Jesse was not sending her home this week.

Q. Talk to me about Trish, what is your opinion of her? Do you believe she will be one of the two staying till the end?

A. I rather not get too deep regarding my personal opinion of Trish, since I do not know how much of what she says is actually true, and how much is merely for entertainment or "shock value". I would imagine someone with such low morals would keep half of her “experiences” under wraps, and nor distribute them on national TV, but some people will go to extremes just to stand out.
I do believe Jesse will probably stretch her out one more week, sending her in the "limo ride of no return" in the next rose ceremony, since I cannot see her staying much longer.

Q. What about Jesse?

A. I do not see Jesse being too passionate with anyone, nor do I see any of the women overly excited about him either, once you get past the "He's a hunk" comments. Perhaps Jesse is trying to avoid comparisons between "Bob's kissathon" and his series. I know it is difficult to walk the fine line between being a "tacky wolf in Sheepsville" and a "virtuous poster boy for a Norman Rockwell painting", but a little enthusiasm and romantic flair never hurt anyone. It is still mid series; therefore, there is still some hope for our boy. He’s rubbed me the wrong way a couple of times, but that may just be my old fashioned sense of values.

Q. Please explain.

A. Well, last week he did not earn too many points in the gentleman department by telling the women the story about “waking up with a stranger”. This week I feel he could have been more sensitive to Jesse’s feelings and omit the comment he found her disgusting during their one on one conversation; not a very nice thing to say about someone else on national TV. Come on, big guy, are you a rough and tough football jock or not? You could have taken the body rub like a man, and not given her a rose at the end, instead of thinking out loud and humiliating her as you did! She has enough self-esteem problems as it is! In my humble opinion, some of his actions are consistent with an individual who either has an overly inflated sense of self-worth, or is just too daft to realize when he hurts others feelings. I forgive him if it’s the latter.

Q. All right A.T., tell it like it is! I love it when you get protective! Anyway, I also thought that was a tacky comment. Talk to me about the women. Which ones don't you see staying much longer?

A. Things may change in the next couple of weeks, but I do not see Mandy or Karen making our hero overly romantic whenever he is in their presence. I already talked to you about Trish; I feel her days are numbered.

Q. Which women do you believe stand a chance of going all the way?

A. Too soon to tell. Right now, I believe it could be between Suzie, and Jessica B. I am not certain about Tara, she needs to open up to Jessie or else she may not stay much longer. We will have to see Jesse interacting individually with each one in order to have a better idea. We will see what happens next week.

THE PERSONAL OPINIONS EXPRESSED ARE ONLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES.
