Chapter 10

"So, were you able to find everything?" Serafina asked Sebrena. Sebrena nodded. They were both sitting in Serafina's attic, where Serafina kept most of her magic belongings. No one ever came in the attic, so her things were safe there. Calysta hadn't come back from her trip yet, so Sebrena and Serafina were waiting for her, drinking sodas.

"You know, I think I saw you stealing some glances at someone today," said Serafina. Sebrena almost choked on her soda. "And from your reaction, I can tell that I'm right."

"You won't say anything to Cal, will you?" Sebrena asked desperately.

"Why shouldn't I? I'm sure she saw it too. I mean, you noticed her and Howie. I don't know why she wouldn't notice you and-"

"Don't say it. I don't want to hear it. I don't like him. I just happened to look at him occasionally throughout the course of the day. There is nothing more. Nothing more," insisted Sebrena.

"Sure, sure, whatever," said Serafina. At that moment, there was the sound of someone coming up the stairs.

"Hello, hello, hello," said Calysta, walking over to the two girls.

"You got everything?" asked Sebrena.

"You bet. Lets get started," said Calysta, bringing out a small bowl.

"So, who remembers how to make this stuff?" asked Sebrena.

"I think it's in the book. Let me go get it," said Serafina. She walked over to the other side of the attic, leaving Sebrena and Calysta alone.

"So, Sebrena, were you looking at someone today?" asked Calysta.

"How did everyone manage to see that?" asked Sebrena, frustrated.

"We're just talented that way," said Serafina, walking back over.

"You're going to make my life a living hell, aren't you?" asked Sebrena.

"Why whatever would give you that idea?" asked Calysta, innocently.

"I know you. That's where I got it," said Sebrena. "And I don't want a single word mentioned about this outside this house."

"And if they're in this house?" asked Serafina.

"Look, I know you both aren't dense. You know what I mean. You both are keeping your mouths shut, got that?" said Sebrena. "Because if you don't, you both will be in for the storm of your lives."

"Can we get started with the spell here?" asked Serafina.

"Why not? So, what do we need to do first?" asked Calysta.

"Let's see," said Serafina, flipping through the book. "Ah, here we go. We put all the ingredients in a canvas bag, and let it soak in water for three hours. Then put it in a bottle, and pour it on a demon, say the magic word, and say good-bye to our little friend."

"Well, that's a pretty simple spell. Anyone have a canvas bag?" asked Calysta.

"I might," said Serafina. "I'll go look. Serafina searched through her attic for about five minutes until she found a small canvas bag. She brought it back over to Sebrena and Calysta.

"So Sera, do you think that you could arrange some sort-of group event with the guys, or just maybe you, Nick, me, Howie, Sebrena, and-" started Calysta.

"Don't say it. Don't say it," interrupted Sebrena. "I do not like him."

"Anyway, Sera, do you think you could arrange something?" asked Calysta, putting some of the ingredients into the bag.

"I can try," said Serafina. "But I don't know why you think that I should be the one to ask. Sebrena, do you want me to-"

"I can't hear you! La la la la la la la la la la la la! I can't hear you!"

"Sebrena!"

"I still can't hear you!"

"So," Serafina whispered to Calysta, "you think she likes him?" Calysta nodded, a knowing look on her face.

"We've got to get them together."

"Yeah, like she's going to agree to that," said Serafina. By now, Sebrena had stopped. She snapped her fingers and a bowl of water appeared. Calysta placed the canvas bag into the water.

"Okay, so now that that's done, what do we do now?" asked Sebrena.

"Why doesn't Serafina go talk to Nick about that date," suggested Calysta.

"Go ahead, but I don't want my name mentioned. At all," said Sebrena.

"Look, why don't you guys come with me?" said Serafina.

"Because I don't to be there when it comes up," said Calysta.

"I don't think they'll be there. It is kind-of late. So, let's go," said Serafina.

"Fine, I'll go, but if they're there, we leave," said Calysta.

"Then can we get going and get this over with?" asked Sebrena.

"That's what I've been trying to do," said Serafina. The three girls walked outside and down to the beach. They let Dia, Dreama, and Kaisa return to their natural forms. They walked silently down the beach towards Nick's house.
