“I love you, y’know.” JC smiled softly, kissing me gently on the lips.
“I know.” My mouth gaped open and he laughed. He leaned over and kissed my neck, moving his mouth next to my ear. “I love you, too. You know that.” Smiling, I blushed slightly. “So,” he said, kissing my cheek as he moved back to he could see me, “what do you want to do tonight?” I looked at him, catching the mischievous gleam in his eye. I smirked and rolled my eyes.
“Boys,” I sighed, jokingly. “One track minds.” Raising an eyebrow, JC began to pinch my sides, gently.
“Boy?” he asked. I nodded, trying to supress a laugh. It didn’t work. I went into hysterics as he began to tickle me harder, until he was straddling me on the floor and my face was bright red from laughing. Smiling down at me, JC’s hands rested on my sides. “Want me to prove to you I’m not a boy?” I grinned mischievously, but my smile suddenly faded. “What’s wrong?” I didn’t answer, closing my eyes and sighing. I felt him move off me and lie down next to me. He swept my hair off my forehead, slowly kissing it. “Baby, tell me. What’s wrong?”
“It doesn’t feel right for me to be laughing and joking around right now,” I said, looking up at him.
“It’s because your father’s funeral is tomorrow, isn’t it?” he asked sympathetically. I nodded, my eyes never leaving his. Without saying another word, he leaned down, kissing me ever so gently, the touch of his lips lingering on mine when he pulled away. “I think we can take a break for one night.” I giggled softly.
“You sure?” I joked. “I mean, I wouldn’t want to damage your integrity.” JC chuckled. reaching for my hand.
“I’m sure,” he said. “If you don’t feel comfortable about it, then we won’t.” I smiled thankfully at him as he stood up, bringing me up with him. Switching my hand to his other hand, he turned and lead me out of my old bedroom in my old house (which was now my brother’s house) and down the stairs to the family room. He sat me down on the couch and I watched as he made a fire in the fireplace and turned on the television. Sweating a little from the heat of the fire, he took off his shirt and walked into the game and video closet.
“What are you doing?” I laughed. “Giving me a strip show?” Peaking out the closet door, he wiggled his eyebrows and disappeared again into the closet. I laid down and yawned as I waited for him to reappear. When he did, he was carrying a movie. He put the movie into the VCR and came and sat down on the floor in front of me.
Taking my hand in his again, he laced his fingers through mine and kissed the back of my hand. I smiled and rested my chin on his shoulder, kissing his neck softly before turning my attention to the television. When the title appeared on the screen, I laughed.
“Austin Powers?” I asked JC, rolling my eyes. He looked at me and wiggled his eyebrows, kissing the tip of my nose.
“Yeah, baby, yeah,” he said, mimicking a Mike Meyers voice. I giggled and kissed him softly.
“Thank you,” I whispered, sighing as I put my head back on his shoulder.
“For what?” I shrugged, closing my eyes.
“Everything.”
