Anyone who remembers that famous cartoon "George of the Jungle, knows this movie. Made by Disney, George of the jungle is a live version of the cartoon series It Stars Brendan Frasier as the jungle raised Tarzan wanna be. All that other famous cvharacters are there too, Ape, Shep, Ursala and the Tuki Bird. If you watch the movie, it is best not to think of the cartoon, because, yets face it, Fraseir has reservations about pain. I usually cringe at remakes, especially any done by Disney, but this movie worked for me for some reason. Again, if you forget everything about this cartoon I think you will enjoy the movie |
I must admitt though, there were times that it just got too silly and some of the pratt falls and side jokes just did not work. I think George in this case was just a tad too clumsey and silly. But the best scene is "The Ultimate Swing." Here Brendan get to swing from the Golden Gate Bridge.
If you wanna silly a real silly movie, rent it.

Here ius an enjoyable movie that I can not get enough of. MAx Dugan Returns. It starred some big name folks like Jason Robards and Mathewe Brodwick. Robards plays a father figure MAx Dugan, who had not been in his daughters life for a very long time. Then one day, years later, he returns and tries to make it up to his daughter and her son who are living well on the line of being poor. So how does he do it? By giving them a huge case of cahs and guying them anything they want and then some. Did I mention that Max is a wanted criminal for imbesselment? |
It really does not help matters when Nora, the daughter is dating a cop, who is hunting for Max. And then there is the son, who does not know that this is his grandfather. He is a typical teen who does what any other teen would do who would be given a huge dog and an entire sterio system, he takes it to heart. The story is so good because the characters are so believable, typical everyday folks. Funny, emotional and an all around fun movie for all to enjoy.

Mazes and Monsters is suppose to be a story based on a true incident, about the dangers of role-playing. though it is not based on any facts what so ever but a compilation of fact and fiction. Ok here is the plot: there is a group of three college kids that roleplay a game called "Mazes ans Monster." The new term starts and they are looking for a new kid to join. In enters Robby, a new kid who just transferred to the school. He hears about the group and joins in the game. But things are not going to well. Robby is starting to have nightmares and seeing and hearing voices. For him the game is real and everyone about him start to look like either his adventuring team, or the monsters. Soon the voice starts to tell him to take a great quest and he diasppears from the college for days. |
When his friends find out they call the police and go on a mad hunt for Robbie throughout New York City. I am not going to spoil the ending for anyone but it does not end too well for Robbie. Again the problem with the movie is that it claimes to be based on a real incident but the truth of the matter is that it is FAR from fact. there are two familiar faces in the movie. Chris Makepeace and a young Tom Hanks. If your into role playing or LARPing, the movie is enjoyable so long as you don't take it too personally.
