Todd: it didnt cost me all that much, maybe around
$250 total. Got comped a lot of parts free including
all the final stock inventory. Its more a case of
growing like a weed 'cause every friend who would
visit my house would just HAVE to add a new track
layout in there! So it had grown that way for 11
years... :) :) :)

Scott,
Some people would think he was nuts, but look at the people who build
model railroad layouts and spend thousands of dollars on them. I know
someone who's basement is one big layout and he has been building it for
years now. I think it's cool, but some people think he's crazy. To each
his own.

Today, the Iron Horse begins hibernation By Tony Gonzalez

it is the end of an era, for now, and eventually the
dawn of a new age. The Iron Horse Spacewarp model has
been placed into storage in a storage facility in
South Bay, California. The picture in the gallery will
show it all. It took 7 hours to get the higher towers
packed out for storage. Supporting lumber was added to
support the floorboards, allowing it to be lifted out
and into the waiting truck.
The house is now for sale. I am looking for the
Riverside county move. It will be ROUGH. It will be
hard. It will be worth it.
Once the lay of the house is established, the master
plan begins. A new recreation room and area will be
created from where popssible. Am hoping to make the
Iron Horse about 10-30 times LARGER than it is now.
so now the Iron Horse sleeps. Packed lovingly, ready
for the ages. I will post aboiut it when the time
comes. All is not gone. The Iron Horse *WILL* live
again, in a much richer glory than ever before..

Hey Scott,
I searched the web to find a source of track, and found a few places
that manufacture 5mm nylon tubing.
www.legris.com has it in white, black, and blue under "semi-rigid nylon"
www.mazzerplastics.com/nylontubing.html
I haven't ordered any myself or gotten a quote, so I'm not sure about the
price or if it will actually work, but it's at least the right size.
Thanks,

Hi Scott,
I have made some scans of the pictures i have from the old rollingball
(1985) and the new rollerscape
i will try to answer your questions first
>Hi Djuri, I am glad to hear from you. I had never heard of the rollingball
>toy before your email. I have had the rollerscape pointed out to me
>recently. I haven't had a chance to examine one, so I am not too sure how
>closely they come to spacewarp. Since you have 3 rollerscape sets, maybe
you
>can answer some questions for me. What is the diameter of the marbles they
>use.
the diameter from the plastic marbles is approximatly 16 mm, the space
between the wires is about 13 mm and the total of the 2 wires in position is
about 19 mm. if i look at the pictures of spacewarp i see that the wire
connection elements look the same as those from rollerscape.

I will keep this in mind and watch ebay for the stuff. to help me shipping is verry kind of you, i let
you know if i need your help in the future.

>drawback is they are not moving forward at a very fast pace.
>
i have connections with a plastic factory here and my future plans are to
build elevator systems, i will let you know when i will move on. my final
goal is to build murble runs from steel with full operational lifting
systems as on the
rollingballweb(http://www.database.com/~lemur/rb-rolling-ball.html).
>I would be very interested in seeing the pictures you have taken of your
>rollerscape set. And even more interested in seeing the rolling-ball set.
>
these 2 pics are from a bad quality, but it's the only thing that is left
from the rolling-ball beside only 1 part. the pictures were made in 1985. i
hope you reconise the marble run, so i'm not the only left on the world who
know's the stuff.
i am not able to send you the pics right now, because i get them returned by hotmail, i will try to send them one by one later on. perhaps you have another mail adres for me

Hi my name is djuri and i am from holland. i am now 26 years old and during my childhood i had a game witch looks verry femilliar to space warp. this marble run was named rolling-ball. its no longer for sale anymore
during a movement some time a go i last the rollingball. i am hunting down the internet to find it again, but unfortunable without any succes. the good thing is that i have still one peace of the rolling ball. as i mentioned earlier this game looked verry the same as spacewarp, but i allready found out that spacewarp is also not for sale anymore. I have two quastion i want to ask you
1) did you ever heard of the rollingball game with looks like spacewarp?
2) do you know were i can found a spacewarp set40?
the good thing is that i have ordered rollerscape (http://www.lagoongames.com/loncran/exec.html) from england by the internet. i ordered 3 sets at the same time and combined these sets to build simmilair tracks as shown on your website. And when i look at the parts they look the same as the parts from spacewarp. . so this might be a suggestion for finding extra parts for you. the only thing that is not available from rollerscape are elevaters to get the marbles up. so i also would like to find such a spirial elevator, do you know were i can find one of these?
if you are iteressted i can send you some photo's from my new build rollerscape with fisher technics lifting sysytem and some foto's of my lost rollingball from 15 years ago,
i hoop you will be in thouch soon,
cheers

I was in a mall store this afternoon, I think it was call "Something to
do", and I came across this item called "Rollerscape". It kind of looks
like a small version of Spacewarp sets. Have you heard of this product
and if so is it compatible with the Spacewarp sets? If not hear is a
like to the U.S. site :
http://www.lagoongames.com/usa/products/btg/index.html then click on
'Rollerscape'.
I plan on getting the set later this week. I do not have my old
Spacewarp set with me anymore so I will not be able to tell if the parts
are interchangeable or not. I figured that you would be one of the best
people to determine that.
Thank you for you time on the Spacewarp web site and keep up the good
work.

Wow, I can't believe it! I have been looking on and off for this game for three years (just could not remember the name, and noone in England has heard of it)!
This is fantastic - not only did I find someone who could tell me the name of it, but I found a fan site aswell!
I had this in Hong Kong where I grew up and have not seen it since - I am absolutely overjoyed - where can I get one that will post out to the UK? And how much is a reasonable price for a set in good condition?
hope to hear from you soon...

Hello,
My name is Vegard and I am a 25 years old student from Norway in Scandinavia. For about 12 or 13 years I have been searching for a toy (which I somehow lost), a sort of a marble-rollercoaster, which I had as a kid.
And today I found what I was looking for!!! Its amazing. Thanks to the internet and your website! Im so excited. I just emailed that japanese contact of yours, and asked if he could help me out.
Well, just wanted to thank you for (almost) completing my endless search for this magnificent toy.
If I ever get hold of a Spacewarp, Im 100% sure I'd be interested in buying some spare parts. You still got some of those spare sparts pictured on your site? Im eager to empty my wallet for this stuff :)
Best wishes from Norway,
Vegard Anfinsen

the link to your site, which I enjoyed. I am in Japan

wondering if they actually sell the sets here. I've
been here for nine months and haven't seen them, but
then again, I haven't been looking. I didn't have time
to read too much into the links and whatnot from your
site but shall do so soon.

Thank You very Much You were right, I just called them and they gave more info. They come in packages of 12, they are only 12" long, and the minimum order is 5 boxes. The stock Number is m13, the price is $8.40 a box . Well It is a replacement. I still have to check into foreign automotive brakeline, and see if that is an easier, or less costly replacement .

Scott,
I got your email about the spacwarp from ebay and I went to your site and saw that you can't get good rail or support tubes well you are going to hate me when I tell you that you can get them at an auto parts store, foreign car brake line comes in 5mm and if you go to a good parts store they have tubing for after market gauges that I think would work GREAT, Just tell the guy behind the counter that you are looking for oil pressure gauge hose for an after market gauge and he should have it, I don't know how much it is or if you have tried either of these things but I beleive that would work.
Let me know
I want to help I love spacewarp

Scott-
Actually I have seen your website a lot lately, it's great! I have been
looking for one of these sets for a while... I could remember what the kit
was, and what it looked like, but I couldn't remember what it was called...
Recently I was watching one of those "Spills and Thrills/Worlds biggest
rollercoaster" shows on the Discovery Channel, and that got me thinking
about these sets again. A little web-surfing later, and I had the name of
the kits. I never bought one when they were still on the market. I was
younger then, and didn't have much disposable (or any) income. ;) Now I'd
like to get one to play around with it... Looks like a pretty cool kit. The
gallery on your website is pretty insane, that "Iron Horse" pic is
unbelievable. Keep up the good work...
BTW- Are the kits hard to assemble? From what I can see from the images on
the web it looks like there would be a lot of trial and error. I was also
wondering if once you get the kit together, and working, if it stays like
that or if it eventually falls out of alignment, and needs to be adjusted..
Also, how often to the balls fall off the tracks? Thanks man, talk to you
later...

Hey Scott, I saw that someone posted a message about
the track you suggested. I bought some of that track
and found that I did not work. It was too flimsy and
oval in section, so as not to fit a crosstie. I can
send you a sample if you'd like.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for informing me of your site!!!! I have inquiries still looking
for these sets regularly and now I'll refer them to your page for
information. I had a carton of the Set #10 that I could hardly give away
for the longest time...now, they are in demand. Do you know of any
comparable product that is on the market these days? I heard there was
something made in Germany, but I haven't been able to follow-up on the
source yet.

Hey Skyler, glad yuou enjoyed the pic of my Iron
Horse!
It started round 92 or so, a friend gave me a
Spacewarp set which I did a model of Disneyland's
Space Mountain. (am nuts enough to have memororized
the layout, check out www.bertino.com for a drawing I
did of it). It kinda started growing from there.
Friends have helped out and it got featured in 2
newspapers and a magazine and on Johnny Mountain
weather locally (ABC news).
Most of the tracks work, maybe about 10-15% of them
drop balls right now, ever since it all got tweaked in
the 94 earthquake. The chainlift assembly on the far
left works and goes through most of the layout things.
I think a coating of dust is a little bit of a
problem.
I am using Christmas lights in there with a relay
board design to flash the lights, strobe light style.
I am working on moving right now, I will be getting a
storage space within 2-3 weeks. The Iron Horse will go
into storage in there along with everythign else I am
boxing up.
To add to my fun factor, Bandai (who I had a pretty
good dirfect connection with and would buy parts
direct) decided to discontinue the Spacewarp. Sigh.
They called me and told mne to bring my trucvk down.
I{ am VERY glad I had the connection going, all the
white boxes you see on the left of the model? Those
are the spare parts given to me by the company. I
filled up my pickup truck and front seat with boxes!
No S13 track ties, though. I have plans about making a
steel punch to make my own ties out of aluminum, sell
them later on here, perhaps?
I am working on moving to Riverside county, can afford
for this year, luckily. I already have plans to have
it lock round a large playroom for my arcade games,
and my future planned pool and foosball table. The
Iron Horse will become BIGGER, hopefully by a factor
of 10. Scary thought, no?
If you are in the Los Angeles area, the invite is
open, do email me. Nightmaretony@yahoo.com
Thanks

More response about SpaceWarp Lighting Ideas By Michael Blackstock

Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 12:58:43 -0500
In the effort of triggering a circuit with LEDs or even other extras, I
found some old automatic garage door parts and used the red beam switch for
a great contactless way to have the balls talk to the circuit. I set up the
red beam across the track and as the balls passed through the beam they
broke the beam just long enough to do the job. Let me know what new ideas
we can expand this with...

Just dug out my SpaceWarp sets and put them together. Since, I did some
research and found your site, it is very useful. I noticed you had a replacement
for the plastic tubing listed in the parts yet at the time you posted it,
you had not ordered any or confirmed it was the correct part. Have you
had any replies on this yet?
Also, do you have any more information on Tony Gonzalez' Iron Horse set?
That this is unbeleivable in the pic, but I can find no web page or any
other information on it, how it was made, how long it took, pictures of
it in action, does it work?!? etc.
Thanks for the help, and great work on the page.
Oh, by the way, I bought my SpaceWarp sets about a year and a half ago from
Bits and Pieces (mail order catalog). I saw them in their print mail order
catalog, and remember having a set as a kid, I bought one of the each of
the sets they had (Black Coaster and set 30). They may still have some for
sale, tho I havent looked recently, you might give them a call and find
out.

Scott,
I appreciate your generousity in sharing the SpaceWarp site. It seems to be the
answer to many of my questions and Spacewarp needs! I was in need of base
plates and couldn't locate any, until I found ebay. This is a good way to get
spare parts, but it can become very expensive as bidding wars get outrageous.
There's a guy on your site who is selling nine base plates - just what I needed
- I plan on buying all of them if someone hasn't beat me to it.. Can you
do me a favor? Let the guy with the base plates know that I want to buy them.
I sent him email the other day and it was returned to me, with a message saying
he doesn't have a yahoo account.
Thanks again,

Rail Question By DSuperBee

Hello
I just sumbled onto your site, and was quite happy. I have 2 spacewarp sets,
a 10 and a 30. Its been years since I have assembled them, but now I have an
urge to. I have a question though. One of the sets (30) came with a smaller
diameter rail than the 10. They do not fit the cross-ties well. Is this a
common thing? I got it from Penny's, if that helps. thanks for letting me
know, I am curious about it. I am most likely going to buy the stuff you
have listed, I hope it is the same size. Thanks again

Date: Wed, 10 May 2001
I really don't have much of an answer to this particular question since this is the first I've heard of it. I hav noticed however that the Blackwolf rail is not round, but is in fact oval shaped. Maybe the track you have is something like that. Or it just may be that Bandai had to find a different supplier for a short time. These things happen from time to time.
