Close Hauled
Usually a Melges has a max of 4 crew, but the wind conditions around Grenada average greater than they ever match race, so we had five of us, and always on the rail.
Chutes goin up
We had beautiful sail changes all week, averaging about 20 seconds per change.
Up on a plain
Throughout the week we were hitting over twenty knotts consistently with the chute up, our record speed was over 25!
Beating again
A good half of the distance around the island was beating, it got to be a battle to stay out on the rail and keep her flat
Sail Trimming
Trimming the heady was an ordeal, constantly looking over your shoulder and trying to get a purchase while out on the rail
Victory at last!
There we are getting in to the finish. We were 1 min 30 behind a Reflex 38, they owed us about 35 minutes on handicap.
