Soon the leaves will be turning so many beautiful colors and and the
young people all over Kentucky will be settling down in their dorms,
making new friends, trying to get their schedules changed and realizing
that the education they are about to receive in the Colleges and
Universities all over Kentucky will make them the leaders of society
tomorrow.
This month, I would like to focus on the University of Kentucky,
located
in
Lexington, Kentucky(Fayette County).
I hope to cover as many Colleges and Universities as possible in the
months ahead.
A college education will provide the best
foundation for every student and for their future and the future of
Kentucky. For every student who takes advantage of the wonderful
Institutions of Higher learning, this State has to offer, there will be
many life-long rewards.
The University of Kentucky , was founded in 1865. The campus in
Lexington includes the colleges and graduate school, with an enrollment
of about 24,000 students.
The University's Albert Chandler Medical Center provides medical
education and research and includes the University of Kentucky
Hospital.
Located in the Albert Chandler Medical Center is a blood and marrow
transplant Center.....Research is an on-going
project here and is known around the world.
Located around the State are the fourteen Community Colleges with a
total enrollment of about 46,000 students. The Community Colleges offer
a varied curriculum, including continuing education and programs
leading
to associate technical degrees.
The University is also very well known for the wonderful records they
hold in various sports.
The Kentucky Wildcats Men's basketball team is known everywhere and
they
have the distinction of being named "The Winningest Team" in the
history
of College basketball.
They now proudly boast of 7 National Championships. What an honor.
In its 135 years, the University of Kentucky has been proud to provide
the best in Academics that are possible. Students from all over the
World have prospered by being educated at the University of Kentucky.
Wishing the very best to every student
as they enter school this month.

the best education they can possibly attain, which will lead them to
their goals for life.
