Whoa!

The ad tells it all. Except for maybe the windshield banner and slimer-green mono-wiper.

I had the privelege of seeing this car in person a while before it was for sale, and trust me: despite the poor picture quality (what do you expect from a blow-up of a color print ad on newsprint?), the car looks even worse in person.

The "custom paint" is real uneven and thick in some places. Especially on the wire mesh on the rear bumper mouldings. The whole kit looks like crap the way it was put on and painted like that. Not like a quality paintjob and instillation would have made it look good. And the custom plates read "YUH8N" as if he had experienced some disapproval from lots of other people.

No mention of mileage. I bet it's a lot. Even if it had only 25,000 miles on it, I still think it's way too much to be asking for it. Hell, I wouldn't take it if it was parked with the keys in the ignition and there was a big neon "Steal me!" sign above it, except to maybe park it somewhere dark where nobody would have to see it. Like that car really needs an alarm, anyway.

Here's a better (and smaller) picture of it taken from autotrader.com when it was for sale again within the same year. I like the new wheels. But the rest of the car still sucks. Even if it appears as though it was evenly repainted yellow.

I wonder why this owner was trying to sell it so soon after buying it. Couldn't take the constant laughter and pointing from countless pedestrians and people in traffic anywhere near him? Apparently the new wheels (and I think an aftermarket exhaust [fartback], so it'd sound as bad as it looked) allowed this owner to add another $1000 to the asking price. Don't know when this car was finally sold, or for how much. But what would you have paid for it?
