Who knew CRX Si's were such valuable cars? Well I guess an 11-year-old car with only 80,000 kilometers on the odometer is kinda special. But what's this? That's on the new(er) engine! Hmmm...wonder how many KM's are on the chassis? And what does "newer motor" mean exactly? Not quite "new" since it now has 80,000 KM on it? "Pulled out of a scrap heap when it had 60,000 KM on it"? "Stolen"?
And I love how none of the "many aftermarket performance options" aren't listed. But the custom body kit is, as well as the fact that it has leather seats and new tires (with 5000 KM on them). Oh, and apparently the stereo costs $4000 alone. Without it, this banana-mobile will only set you back $10 grand. Sure that's in Canadian play money, but still that's WAY too much, even in U.S. dollars.
....I'll see if I can spot the aftermarket performance options.
New paint (I think, due to its apparent thickness even in this grainy pic). Body-colored wipers (and we all know yellow's the fastest color on the market). A bra to protect that fast paint from jealous rocks that wanna mess it up. And it appears as though there are holes in the bra for the hood pins to poke out of. But I don't see any hood pins in the picture. K-Mart (do they have those in Canada?) ping-pong fog lights (to annoyingly illuminate the mall parking lot during those high-speed runs through the theater parking lot that like, totally impress the laydeez)!
More performance options include body-color mirrors and trim, as well as the body kit mentioned in the ad. But the rear wing (as if it's not hard enough seeing out the back of a CRX already) isn't mentioned. Neither is the tint, tri-star wheels (that show off those oh-so-miniscule front discs and oh-so-rusty rear drums), signal lamp blackouts (both front and corner), fender-mounted red signal bulbs (so you can still see which direction the driver intends to turn?), and most importantly of all...the stickers!!
The only stickers I can make out are "Honda Racing" and "Redline Motorsport". And we all know that respectable motorsports use the Olde English ghetto font because true automotive historians know that all the mainstays use that same font. There are at least 3 other stickers on that car: 2 on the door (one white) and another on the rear window. Man those are a lot of aftermarket performance options!
And with the suspicion that this car also has taillight blackouts and vent visors, I have changed my mind. This car is a performance bargain!
