I had no idea....

I had no idea that the Civic Type R was sold in the United States. I also had no idea that it had been around for so long. Nor did I know that the Type-R badges went on the doors. Speaking of doors, I never knew the CTR (Civic Type-R when you don't feel like typing) was available with four of them.

The white H badge, clear signal lights, lowered stance, steel wheels, and single wiper add to the "Type-R-ness" of it.

More evidence of its "Type-R-ness": The "DOHC V-TEC" badge on the right side of the trunk lid (I had no idea that this generation of Civic was even available with V-TEC!). The fart tip (with the Tenzo R badge on the trunk lid, to assuage concerns that it might be from Pep Boys). The red-painted center taillight panel with a cursive "Civic" badge in the center. The missing H badge from the trunk lid. And (the part that I actually like) the painted interior bits.

The paint, while a cool color (sparkle blue-green), was really thick and kind of dull. And the rear bumper is dislodged. Maybe the car's for sale because the owner figured that with a small investment, he could make a quick buck off some kid who thought that this was a real Type-R?
