A lovely weekend.

I really enjoyed my weekend. Forest and I drifted through it in a blissful sort of reverie that made it seem as though it would never end. Then, of course, it did. Damn.

Friday night I picked Forest up from work, and we went to see the late showing of Unbreakable. It was really a lot of fun. I had no idea going in that this was a movie about comic books; but my lack of comic knowledge didn't impact my enjoyment of it at all. Forest and I snuggled together under his coat with a nice hot bag of popcorn, and enjoyed ourselves very much. The best part was sitting for an hour and a half with my head on his shoulder, and my arm though his, holding hands. We really like those chairs in the cinema with flip-up arms.

Saturday we slept in, which is a luxury unto itself, and then lazily made our way to the randori at MSU. Judo is fun to watch, and I got about 20 great photos out of the 60 that I took. I'm improving! I'll scan a couple of them in when I get a chance. Forest ended up getting a mat-burn on his eyelid, which is rather painful, but didn't prevent our going out to a nice chinese dinner afterward. Then, full of egg rolls and plum sauce, we decided it would be a good idea to go home, at least for a while. Forest wanted to soak his muscles in hot water, and I thought a little rest would be nice; then we ended up spending the rest of the evening on the couch watching the South Park holiday specials. It was a lot of fun, and we snuggled a lot, which made it even better.

We were very cuddly this weekend, even more so than usual.

Sunday morning we got up early enough to go in to town for Sean's birthday breakfast. We got him a cool Muppets Playstation game, and Darcy gave him a stuffed turkey with a broken neck, who looked like "Gobbles" from South Park. It was pretty funny. (And somehow sadly deranged.)

After breakfast, Forest and I went out and determinedly registered for wedding gifts, whether we felt like it or not. It didn't turn out to be too bad, although by the end of the afternoon, we were definitely both ready to be OUT of the housewares aisle. We ended up deciding to register for a few things at Hudson's (for members of my family who would rather shop there) and the bulk at Target, since the prices are a lot more reasonable. It was remarkably easy to do, and I must say that I'm glad that modern technology was on our side.

After registering, we spent about a half hour at Pinball Pete's playing arcade games until it was time for my handbell concert, which went well. We had an audience of about 160! I was pretty impressed. It was standing room only, and people didn't leave at intermission. Wow.

Forest seemed to enjoy the show, and we were able to cut out of there early enough to have a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse on the way home.

I love my sweety very much. The weekend was filled with sweet gestures of affection, and shared experiences. I still feel all warm and happy, and it's the end of a Monday.

Time to go ring another concert!
