Back and burned, but happy

Despite my instincts telling me to stay up north forever, I've returned to my life of adult responsibility with minimal kicking and screaming. My sunburn is yeilding to the soothing effects of Panama Jack After Sun lotion, and tired muscles have abandoned their weekend's efforts for mundane Monday chair-sitting and car-driving.

As you can tell, I am really excited to be here today. Yeah.

The weekend was lovely. Karen and I had fun Friday night and Saturday catching up with each other, talking as sisters do about men, specifically husbands and what makes good husbandly material. We spoke of our relationships, of our parents, silly jobs we've had and careers we want. It was fun to see where she's coming from these days. We haven't done that often enough.

Saturday Karen went back to Lansing, and Forest came to meet me. We really enjoyed each other's company, and actually laid around reading books together for quite some time. Don't laugh, we both love to read.

We also saw Mission Impossible: 2 and had a nice cozy dinner at Chili's, after which we left our doggie bag on the table. *sigh*

Today has been long, boring, and my sunburn has been bitching at me nonstop, so before I get an attitude, I'm out of here.
