The shortest weekend ever
This had to be the shortest weekend ever. I was so tired at the end of the week I couldn't think straight. Then, I suddenly realized that I had drasticaly overcommitted myself for the entirety of the weekend. Friday night we had rehearsal and then gamed. Saturday I did the maps for my sister's wedding invitations, and then went to have them printed at Kinko's. We took the kids out to eat and shopping at Barnes & Noble. I went to the optometrist to get my new glasses. Then I had a date to watch a movie with Jeff (our first time together in a few weeks). Sunday I went to my mom's for lunch, then went to see my sister's new house, and then went to help her register for wedding gifts for the rest of the afternoon.
By the time this was all over, I was a complete couch potato. I didn't get anything done, so my house is still a pit. Tonight I get to go back to rehearsing until all sorts of ungodly hours.
Think positively, right? I still have almost enough clothes to get through the week.
Three different people this weekend told me that I should talk Jeff into moving to the country with me. My ex pointed out that Jeff could buy one heck of a nice car with the money he will have to spend to keep up with rent and bills once I am gone. My mom pointed out that child care arrangements, groceries, and utilities are much cheaper when you live in groups. Kirstin's stepmom thinks it's hurtful to the kids to break up their familial units. Of course, all three of them are completely correct. Unfortunately, they don't understand the other side of the situation. Jeff's the type of guy who is only going to resist change more if he feels pushed into it. He would get upset with me if I kept badgering him to change his mind now that he's made his decision. However, if I leave him alone and he feels he has changed his mind on his own, he may eventually move with me after all. It's all a psychological game. Fun, huh?
