Thursday finally.

I love Thursdays. At first I thought they were tedious. We have regular meetings scheduled every Thursday from one in the afternoon, and they usually last until after five. I probably shouldn't say this, but generally we have a really good time at meetings. I work with a lot of really funny (granted - computer-geek-funny) people. There is a lot of laughter at our meetings. It reminds me of spending an evening with my friends, although most of the time the subject matter is different. It's a nice way to spend a Thursday afternoon, and it makes the end of the week go so much faster!

Last night I left rehearsal early to take Kirstin home and put her to bed. She has a nasty cold, and has been feeling pretty droopy. I'm really glad I ditched out when I did. Apparently they rehearsed until 11 p.m. again last night. The director is a friend of mine, and I don't want to pick on her, but she really needs to learn to send people home at a reasonable hour. I'm physically not capable of rehearsing 5 nights a week from 7 until 11, and then working 5 days a week from 8 to 5. I just can't do it. I need some down-time other than when I am in bed. My house is a pit, and my laundry needs to be done. It's her first time directing, so I don't think she realizes what effect this will have on her 30-person cast. People are used to staying out late for tech week (which is the few days before the first show). Our tech week isn't until the 26th. If she keeps up this pace, she's going to have high school kids getting in trouble for not doing their homework and being asleep at their desks, adults who all come down with colds and flus, and some frazzled tempers from people who are already pretty high-strung. It's really not a good way to manage one's human resources.

Enough ranting about that, I guess. Frankly, tonight we are running a part of the play I am not too active in, so hopefully I will leave before rehearsal is over again. I feel kind of bad for leaving early, because I am used to having a bigger part, and therefore being utilized from the first to last moment of each rehearsal. I'm accustomed to it. In this case, though, it's logical for me to use my time elsewhere. I think. I hope the director isn't irritated with me about this. She's really nice, and one of my friends, and I don't want her to feel like I have taken advantage of her kindness.

Has anyone noticed that I have far less time to write since Darth Vader appeared?
