Virtual Friday
I'm out of here after today! Forest and I are hitting the road for Chicago, possibly tonight after Tae Kwon Do, and not coming back until Saturday afternoon. We're planning to visit our friend Wayne, and go to see Fantasia 2000 at the IMax at Navy Pier. I feel a little strange about it, because we're tight on money just now, but it's not such an expensive trip when you don't have to pay for lodging. It's nice to go when it's just for the fun of it. We have no great burning agenda, nothing to move, no transportation to provide. We're just blowing town for a day or two.Last night was truly pathetic. Forest and I hung out in town after work, had dinner and browsed around the bookstore for a while, the whole time he was exhausted, and I was all energetic and wanting to be active. Then we got to Yeffy's house to game, and by 11:30, I was sound asleep on Yeffy's couch, and Forest was wide awake, playing with the gang until almost 1 AM. We've got to figure out what's going on with our sleep schedules.
We have a lot of things to cram into this weekend, and it will be downright miraculous if it all happens. We'll be back from Chicago in time to go to a conference for Forest's ice cream shop (which I guess means eating a lot of ice cream) and then Forest has to close Olga's. That night Darcy, James and Vic are coming over to game until about 4 AM. Forest works all day on Sunday, and immediately after that we're helping his friend Will move a bunch of his stuff, until probably 11 PM.
What's sad is that I can tell you right now with a schedule like this by Monday I'll be missing spending time alone together, and Forest will be feeling guilty for not spending enough time with a list of other people. Fact is, he's just plain booked solid, and I'm not busy Saturday night or Sunday afternoon while he's at work. This time I'm determined to handle it better, though. I will use my time wisely, and then I hope our brains will be running on a similar schedule. Yesterday I felt like I was bursting with energy while he was dragging, and vice versa. That doesn't work out very well.
The good thing about that is that it will help me keep up with my workout schedule. I will have to make up for not weightlifting on Friday, and I'm scheduled to practice my new forms on Saturday and my Chun Pubs on Sunday. Each of those will take a couple of hours. The only bummer is that I wish I had a partner to work on some of this stuff with. I may call Elizabeth and see if she's up for it, Sunday at least. I can work on Forms alone with no problem, but it's useful to have a person to work on chun pubs with.
