Drawing Down the Moon
2 methods - Meditation and Athame (By Lady Amarissa WolfRose)

Drawing down the moon is a ritual performed by many high priestesses of covens. It is said to be an act that allows the woman to draw into herself the Goddess, Her Essence and Her Wisdom.
It is also an act that replenishes the body with new and vibrant energy, so done regularly on the full moon, it can help keep your body feeling energetic and stop you from getting run down.

There are many different methods to use when drawing down the moon. The ones I have found to be most effective are described blelow.

#1 - Meditation Method:
Sit outside in the light of the full moon. Fix your eyes on the moon for a few minutes, then close your eyes, seeing the moon from inside yourself.
Imagine yourself merging with the moon, your soul and the moon becoming one. Feel the power and energy inside of you, pulsating with each beat of your heart.
See the moon inside of yourself, see it becoming your soul, your heart and your mind.
Let yourself drink up the moon's energy, take as long as you like. Slowly open your eyes, concentrating once more on the moon. Visualise the rays and light of the moon flowing towards you, bathing your skin in pure energy.
Thank the Moon for its beauty and power, and give a small offering to nature.

Note - Works best if you are naked, or wearing as little as possible. Also, if you can, wear moon related jewellry (ie moon shaped pendants, silver chains, pieces of jewellry with moonstone).
The offering I found works well is as follows:
Fill a small bowl with cold water (spring/mineral/distilled water works better than tap water). Put in the water some flower petals, and if you have any, sprinkle some dried lavendar herbs on top.
Place this bowl outside, where the moon can shine on it for at least a short while.
The following morning, tip the water out onto the soil. If you have a young or sick tree/plant in your garden, tip the water on there.

#2 - Athame Method:
Sit in the moonlight with your athame. Mediate for a few mintues, calming yourself inside.
Now, stand up, with your feet a little more than a shoulder lenght apart, your arms raised to shoulder height, your athame in your left hand.
Chant these words a few times:

"I am the Cup,
The Moon is the Water
Flow into Me,
The Goddess's Daughter."

Now slowly raise your arms in an arched movement, until they are above your head. Clasp your hands together, your right hand on top of your left hand (your left hand is holding the athame).
Feel the power of the moon filling the athame's blade, and overflowing into your body. Feel it travelling down your whole body, coursing through your veins. See yourself breathing in not air, but power from the moon.
Begin to chant the following:

"I drink of the Moon,
The Soul of the Night.
I drink of the Moon,
Heaven's sweet Light."

See your body glowing and pulsating with the power that is flowing into you. When you feel that you are finished, slowly lower your arms to your sides. Thank the Moon for it's gift to you. With your athame, scratch a pentagram or pentacle in the dirt.

Waning Moon

- a wand (or a large feather - whichever works best for you)

The Ritual:
Place the cauldron between 2 black candles, with a third black candle opposite you on the far side of the altar.
Burn a protection or binding incense.
Have the names of the person/s you wish to bind written on a small peice of parchment or paper. If the names are unknown, the write "The Unknown Troublemaker".
Sprinkle the basil and elder into the cauldron.

Burn the evil, destroy the trouble."

Light the parchment or paper from the central candle (the candle opposite you) and drop the paper into the cauldron.

To Find a Lost Pet
(By Lady Amarissa WolfRose)

There's nothing worse than your beloved pet going missing. It's heartbreaking, confusing, and it destroys a part of you. Often, are pets are our spirit animals - we get a pet that is the same speices as our favorite animal (which is often our inner animal guide).
When your pet goes missing, you're not sure if you should hope it returns, or just give up. Either way your heart gets broken if the beloved animal does not show up again.
But here's a little spell I wrote to help that pet find its way home.
Remember, however, that old animals *may* leave home to die elsewhere. It's happened before.

Needed:
- 1 white candle
- 1 black candle
- the pet's favorite toy or possession (blanket, ball, cushion, etc)
- a dish of the pet's favorite food (if you have other pets in the house, make sure they can't get to it)
- a picture of the pet (if you don't have a photo, just draw a rough sketch of it. Don't worry about being artistic, it's the thought that honestly counts!)
- if your pet is a cat, and it likes catnip, get a bit of that, too.

The Ritual: In any window of the house, prefferably one which the pet was at frequently, place the white and black candles. Between them, place the pet's picture (and the catnip, if you're using it). As you light the two candles, say the following, in the tone of voice you use to call your pet.

"(name),(name) come to me,
Beyond the mountains, beyond the sea,
Where ever you are, hear my voice,
(name),(name) come home to me."

Put the pet's toy or possession next to the white candle, and pat or shake the toy/possesion invitingly.
Place the pet's food next to the black candle, and say the following:

"You must be hungry, out there in the world,
Come home to me, come out of the cold,
Come eat your dinner, come play with me,
Come home, (name), come home to me."

Sit or stand quitely for a few minutes, concentratining on how much you love your pet, and how much you want it to come home.
End the ritual with the following request to the Goddess/God (you can edit the following words):

"Goddess, please hear me now.
You brought (name) into my life for a reason,
And it is your will that (name) has gone.
But I ask you, bring (name) home to me,
Bring (name) back into my loving arms.
Protect (name), keep him/her safe from harm.
Show (name) the way home.
If it be your divine will, then so mote it be."

Believe with your heart that your pet will return. However, if the pet does not return, know that it was for a reason, and let the hurt and pain to help you grow. When it feels right, get another pet, not to replace the missing one, but to form another strong and loving relationship.
But whatever happens, don't give up hope. Believe your pet will come home.

Oils, Potions and Other Cauldron Wonders:

Note - to make an oil, simply fill the jar or bottle with a base oil (you can get this from any health food shop - just ask them what a base oil is). Put the drops of oil in it. The amount of drops can be increased to make it smell stronger - but keep the drops in proportion. There will be more about creating your own oils in Pagan Goddess Newsletter, #1 (August 21st).

Psychic Dreaming Oil
You will need:
- 3 drops rosemary
- 2 drops fennel
- 4 drops chamomile or sage
- 1 drop jasmine
- 1 drop basil

In the bottle or jar, place a very small piece of moonstone.
To have psychic dreams, place this on your wrists, and on the third eye chakra (watch your eyes!).

Beauty Within Oil
You will need:
- 5 drops rose
- 2 drops rosemary
and 2 or 3 drops of your favorite essential oil

Whenever you wear this, see yourself glowing with beauty and sexiness.

I am a Goddess Perfume
(By Lady Amarissa WolfRose)
You will need:
- 10 drops rose
- 2 drops lavendar
- 3 drops lotus
- 1 drop pine
- 1 drop fennel
and 5 or 6 drops of your favorite essential oil (make sure it doesn't clash with the other fragrances).

Wear this whenever you go out, especially on dates (if you don't think it smells quite right, you can get rid of the pine and fennel). Feel yourself as being perfect in looks, personality and mood. See yourself glowing with radiant beauty, pulsing with success, and overflowing with womanly Goddess charm and charisma. :)
