PASTORAL INTERNS PROGRAMME
Degree/Diploma of Ministry

The Pastoral Interns Programme (PIP) offers both Diploma and Bachelor of Ministry courses. With its combination of sound theological teaching and on-the-job training in a conducive environment, PIP provides the best method for preparing and releasing men and women for service in the mission field. Constant mentoring, discipline and character development are emphasized in this programme.

Unique Features of the Course
Each PIP subject module is worth five credits and consists of three components. Students must complete all the three components of the subject satisfactorily before credits are awarded.

  • a) Lectures and examinations
  • b) Reading assignments and elective texts
  • c) Practicum supervised by a mentor
When a student accumulates sufficient credits by completing these modules, he will be awarded the Diploma/Degree of Ministry. A student will take approximately three years for the Diploma and 4½ years for the Degree of Ministry.

PASTORAL INTERNS PROGRAMME
Term One - January 2002

Day School: 14-18 January
Time: 8.00 pm-1.00 pm, Monday to Friday
Subject: The Minor Prophets – This study will give you a survey of the books of the Minor Prophets, in particular Amos, Micah, Nahum, Zephaniah, Haggai and Zechariah. You will discover how these books, written nearly 3500 years ago, are relevant to the modern church today.

Night School: 7-19 January
Time: 7.00 pm-9.45 pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
Saturday: 3.00-5.00 pm.
Subject: Old Testament Theology – This study is an overview of Old Testament Theology, covering the Edenic, Noahic, Patriarchal, Monarchial and Prophetic eras. You will discover the God of the Old Testament in these studies.

Lecturer: Dr Brian Daehn
Dr Brian Daehn was immersed in the business world when God’s hand intervened powerfully in his life. A native of Canada, he later settled in Portland, Oregon, where he met his wife Brenda, who served as a children’s ministry coordinator for many years. After graduating from Portland Bible College, Brian continued his education at Western Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree. Following a year as Academic Dean of Harvest International Bible College, Dr Daehn and his family returned to Portland Bible College where he is a full-time instructor. He has travelled to numerous countries around the world, ministering in leadership and prophetic conferences, seminars, and equipping the Body of Christ through a strong combination of prophetic and teaching ministries.

PASTORAL INTERNS PROGRAMME
Term Two - July 2002

Day School: 1-5 July
Time: 8.00 am-1.00 pm, Monday to Friday
Subject: Book of Revelation – Few people have a good understanding of this prophetic book. In fact, after reading it, one may be more confused than enlightened. However, once you have understood the book of Revelation, you will discover the many mysteries of the “Last Days”. You cannot afford to miss this in-depth exposition of the book of Revelation by one of Australia’s finest Bible teachers, Dr Kevin Conner.

Lecturer: Dr Kevin Conner
Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1927, and saved at age 14, Kevin Conner served the Lord in the Salvation Army until age of 21. At this time, he entered into Pastoral Ministry with Full Gospel Church and pastored for a number of years. For the next 20 years, he ministered in conventions and Bible Colleges in both Australia and New Zealand.
In 1972, he and his family moved to Portland, Oregon, where he served at Portland Bible College and Bible Temple until 1981. Since then, he has served in his own country and for some years was Senior Minister of Waverley Christian Fellowship. In 1995, he turned over the senior responsibility to his son, Mark. Since that time, along with his wife, Rene, he serves the church locally, as well as ministering in Ministers’ Conferences and National Workers Seminars’. He continues to write text books to bless the Body of Christ.

Night School: 1-18 July
Time: 7.00 pm-9.45 pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only
Subject: An Overview of Theology – This course covers topics like Biblilogy, Theology, Christology, Pneumatology, Angelology, Anthropology, Hamatialogy and Soteriology. These studies will greatly enlarge your understanding of the God you believe in.

Dr Neal Patterson is a gifted lecturer and has been in ministry for over 37 years. Together with his wife Ruth, they have pioneered several churches in New Zealand and established Bible Schools in Singapore and Indonesia.
