Have you ever really wondered,
     Why God gave His only begotten Son,
To a bunch of twisted and wicked sinners,
     To be tortured and crucified for their fun.

The answer is so very obvious,
     Every child and adult can clearly see,
It’s all about unconditional love,
     From the One who’s always beside you and me.

As John 3:16 faithfully describes,
     He was given as a precious gift,
To all those who believe in Him,
     So that they can eternally live.

Jesus was His christened name,
     Born in a manger for there weren’t any inns,
Into abject poverty and humility,
     To save us all from our deadly sins.

He was never rich in earthly wealth,
     Neither was He born a royal,
But He was always in good health,
     And to God, He was absolutely loyal.

There is so much we can learn,
     Of how He lived and eventually died,
About the miraculous deeds He performed,
     And of how sorrowfully He cried.

So live every day as if it is your last,
     And continue to grow in our Lord,
Just forget who you were in the past,
     ’Cause from now on you’re a child of God.
