TRIBUTE TO LEO
( Born 1st December 1987 - Died 26th July 2000 )

{short description of image}

Our front-page personality, Leo, has sadly succumbed
to an incurable disease and has been peacefully put to
sleep. All cats are special but Leo, as a cream-shaded
cameo Maine Coon, was a rarity. His nature reflected
this since it was as unique as the colour of his coat.
His family and friends and his brother, Murrmile all
miss him very much but are comforted when they
remember how much joy and pleasure brought into their
lives.

CAT DISEASES
Feline Infectious Peritonitus

FIP, which caused Leo's death, is not a typical infectious disease but
an immune complex one. It is caused by a coronavirus and the cat's
immune system, in trying to combat the virus, actually, it speeds up the
process of the disease. It ultimately proves to be fatal as there is no
known cure.

We would be pleased to hear from any of our readers who have had
any experience of FIP in their pets since it is a very complex disease
and extremely difficult to diagnose.

If you had a cat die due to any illness or accident, and feel it would be useful to help tell others about the possible dangers which arise. Then please email us with a picture of your cat (in JPG or GIF format) along with your name, your cats name, age of cat, date of passing and cause of death. In the form of a short story. There are many things which can kill, but many people have never heard how to avoid (if possible) such sad endings.

We will also have a Good - Bye page, for all cats. There is NO charge for any stories or entries on ANY page on this site.
