(3 Weeks Later Wedding Day)
"Riley, what am I doing, he doesn't love me" I told my best friend/maid of honor.
"Yeah right, he's crazy about you, I can tell by the way he looks at you,"
"Yeah, with pure disgust. I have to go talk to him,I'll be back"
"Belle, you're not supposed to say the groom before the wedding!" I shrugged.
"There can't possibly be any more bad luck in this marriage," I replied. I walked across the hall to his dressing room and cracked the door. He was on the phone. I was going to make my presence known until I heard.
"Yeah, my future wife is clueless" That got my full attention and I listened to his end of the conversation. "She has no idea, of course, yeah, I'll be over your house around Wednesday night,"
"It doesn't matter, as long as the bed fits two, yeah, stay sweet, love you too," he continued.
I quietly and quickly shut the door,then I went back to my dressing room silently. He was cheating on me, before we even got married!
"Riley, I need you to drive me and Jakob to the airport," I said holding back tears.
"Why, your wedding is in less than an hour!"
"I don't care Riley, just please, drive me,"
(Brian's POV)
"Nick man, where is she?"
"I don't know, but Jakob is gone too," I suddenly felt a sinking feeling in my stomach, and I was scared. Has she left me again? I thought. I ran and checked Jakob's closet, everything was gone, same with Belle's, except her wedding dress was hung neatly in her closet.
"Dammit Frack, she left!"
"Do you know a Riley Martin?" Nick asked holding up a piece of paper.
"Yeah, she is... or was Belle's maid of honor."
"Well here's her number, maybe she knows where they are," So I called her
R: Hello?
B: Is this Riley Martin
R: yeah, who is this?
B: Brian Littrell, do you have any idea where Belle is?
R: Uh... no... I don't. I don't know where she is.
B: Is she there with you Riley?
R: No
B: But I just heard Jakob's voice.
R: No, you're mistaken.
( I heard a voice, talking about boarding a plane)
B: You're at the airport aren't you"
R: I have to go, our plane is I mean someone is on the other line, bye.
Then she hung up.
"Come on Nick, we're going to the airport.
"Belle's POV)
"Thanks Riley, you're a life saver."
"You better be glad my uncle and I have connections at the airport"
"Yeah, he's a lifesaver too,"
"Belle , you and Jakob can stay with me in California for as long as need or want. But are you sure you're doing the right thing, the man just found out he has a son, I think he wants to spend time with him,"
"That's his problem, Riley, he was cheating on me before we even got married."
"Are you 100% sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. I wish we could take off soon," I said. It was just like the pilot read y mind because, seconds later he was telling passengers to buckle up for lift off. I reached for Jakob at the window to buckle him up, but he suddenly squealed "Daddy!" I looked out the window. Brian was at the ticket booth with Nick. of course he had no idea where we were, he couldn't have.
"He's here Riley," I whispered. "At least he doesn't know where we are." she replied. I stared at him. I wondered if I still loved hi, I wondered if was doing the right thing. we lifted off and just as we did he looked straight at me. His eyes met mine and I admitted the truth to myself. I had and probably always will be madly and deeply in love with this man, no matter what he did, I would love him. in love with a man who doesn't love me back.
"Isn't Daddy coming with us?' Jakob asked looking up at me.
"No baby, Daddy has to stay home this time," I answered.
"Is he coming to see us?" I looked down at Jakob. He looked so much like Brian it hurt. He reminded me every bit of him, and it brought tears to my eyes.
"Yes eventually." I finally answered.
"Aunt Riley?"
"What baby?"
"Why is Mommy crying?"
"Well, she just misses your daddy,"
"Oh"
"What am I supposed to do when he comes to San Diego? He's going to take my little boy"
"Stop that, you know he loves you too much to do that,"
"He doesn't love me at all, I'm just stupid enough to love him,"
"He does love you. Jakob is going to miss his daddy so much" Riley said.
"Riley stop it, Jakob will just have to get over it, he has to,"
"He shouldn't have to,"
"Who's side are you on Riley?" I asked.
"Brian's"
"Riley"
"All right, you know I'm on your side but I think,never mind, it's your life,"
"I'm telling you Riley, I made the right decision,"
"Are you going to let Jakob keep in contact with him?" she asked.
"He'll force me to of course"Then I heard Riley's phone ringing," She answered it and gave it to me,"
"What are you doing?"
"Relax, its only Nick"
"Hello?"
"Hey Belle"
"Hey Nick"
"Brian's marrying his ex girlfriend in your wedding dress."
"He can't do that!"
"Well he is,"
"Why are you telling me?"
"Because he loves you, and you love him, this is supposed to be your wedding,"
"But its not"
"You do know that he plans on bringing you back again,"
"Well I won't come back this time,"
"What about Jakob, the poor kid, Frick wanna, and is gonna see him, you know that,"
"Frick", can go to heck for all I care"
"Why did you run off anyway?"
"Like you don't know,"
"I don't really,"
"I heard him on the phone with his girlfriend, about an hour before the wedding.He was "planning" with her."
"Are you sure,"
"Of course I am,I have to go Nick, I'll talk to you later,"
"OK, bye belle," I hung up and gave the phone back to Riley.
"What did he want?"
"Brian's marrying his ex"
"He is?"
"But today was supposed to be your wedding,"
"She can have it, I don't want it,"
"Quit acting like you don't care, Belle, its tearing you up inside,"
"Maybe so, but I'll get over it."
