The soul of Rosenkreutz is quickly lifted out of his body to the realm of Lucifer who sits upon his throne. It is a world created by Lucifer. It is a world of illusions and false light. There are flashes of lightning and claps of thunder throughout this world. The lightning creates brilliant colors that streak across the upper regions of the realm of Lucifer. He is a being of beautiful light. Standing at his side are the two demons that overcame Rosenkreutz. Lucifer explains to Rosenkreutz that his beings have wrested his soul from his body and have brought it before him and his throne. He tells him that he knows of his visit to the blind man. He knows that this man is the Resurrected Etheric Christ. He knows of what he has told Rosenkreutz about him (Lucifer) and about the mission that he has entrusted to him. However, Lucifer, in a thundering voice, tells him that he can offer him more. He can offer him world power if only he were to accept him as his god.

After Lucifer is finished speaking he intensifies his brilliance. As he looks upon Rosenkreutz a white light replaces the countenance of Lucifer. It is a spherical white light that now begins to cast its light upon Rosenkreutz and begins to fill the soul of Rosenkreutz. At this moment the Divine Sophia appears and stands between Rosenkreutz and Lucifer. By doing so she shields him from the light of Lucifer. She admonishes him to stay true to his mission for the Christ Who has come for ‘all’ of humanity. He has come so that all may be filled with His light and that they may be freed from the bondage of the false light of Lucifer. She asks him if he would denounce the powers of Lucifer to which he says yes; now and forever. Immediately after, an ethereal golden rose appears between him and the Divine Sophia. She then says that he is in safe keeping. She will now guide his soul back to his body on earth and he will be released from this luciferic world of illusion. This angers Lucifer immensely. With this loss he vows to pour his wrath of the plague upon Europe and the people of his village with an ever greater measure of vengeance.

Rosenkreutz, who is back in his body, slowly regains consciousness as it is now early morning and the sun is shining brightly. Later he buries Olaf and Elsa and says a final prayer over the shallow graves which are in the yard of the farm cottage. The sun is now at its zenith at noon as he picks up his bag and begins to continue on his way home.

The time of the year has now moved forward to summer at the time of the summer solstice (June 21) or as this approximate time can also be called: St. John’s Tide. It is the time of the year when the sunlight of the year has reached its peak. Everything is in full bloom while the weather is warm and the sunshine is at its greatest. Rosenkreutz, Maria and Eva are again tending the garden and picking summer flowers.

He asks Maria if she is aware of the spiritual significance of this time of the year and its relation to nature. Maria responds that she is aware that the forces of nature are at their peak at this time but does not know its relation to anything spiritual. Rosenkreutz begins to explain that throughout the earth there are nature spirits. They are beings beyond physical perception and that they are behind what we perceive to be natural forces. They are small and if you could perceive them they are often no larger than the size of one’s hand. As the sun rises higher in the heavens during the spring and summer months these beings, who have retreated within the earth during the winter, begin to rise again at the vernal equinox ( March 21) in early spring. They rise out of the earth to meet the direct rays of the sun. While doing so, they are capable of working their forces more fully upon the earth’s surface bringing nature to full bloom at the summer solstice; St. John’s Tide.As the direct rays of the sun begin to diminish during the fall these nature spirits begin to retreat within the earth taking with them their soul forces that they have imbued into nature.
