This is another beautiful place in Beaufort. Locally, we call it "The Sands." Otherwise it is known as the Port Royal Boardwalk area. There is a beautiful boardwalk there, and a small stretch of beach. The swimming is obsolete because the area is so full of oyster shells, but this place is a favorite for sunbathers, jet skiers, boaters, sailors...
This is the view as you step on to the boardwalk. This was taken between 6-7 pm, when the sun was just starting to go down. Imagine it this way, as you look at these pictures...
The sun has begun to set, filling the sky up with brilliant pinks and reds. The cool breeze has picked up some, bringing the smell of salt air and sand to your senses. The waves crash below you as you saunter up this brilliant boardwalk, your feet making a clomping sound on the wood with every step. The birds fly above, singing songs of summertime.
