Don't get me wrong on Old Sheldon Church. It is not eerie by daylight. It is actually the most beatiful place I think I can find nearby to have private picnics at. The second Sunday after Easter a Church service is actually held here, and there are always weddings going on here. What a beautiful place to get married. In another world, in another time in my life, I once had a distant dream of getting married behind the walls of these ruins.
I prefer blankets laid out on the ground, but a picnic table is always a nice additive.
There are also some very interesting graves to be seen. I am not sure if grave rubbings are allowed, but that would be such a nice, educational way to spend an afternoon.
You never know what you may find.....
Well, where else can I go in Beaufort county?
