The lighthouse tower is the focal point of the Port of Entry. This entrance street to IOA is filled with shops and people selling goods from around the world.
Island Skipper Tours --
By taking a ride on the boats that seem to be very old and un-travelable, guests have the opportunity to take a short tour around the lake of the theme park. The boats travel safely around the lake allowing guests to see the other areas of the park.
Straight out of the comics, Marvel Superhero Island pits good against evil in several attractions based on Marvel Comics.
The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman --
In the most state-of-the-art 3-D ride ever, join Spiderman in his quest to save the city as you take on villains such as Dr. Octopus and Hobgoblin. This ride is a moving 3D simulator ride, combining the best effects around.
The Incredible Hulk Coaster --
Visitors definitely get a thrill on this amazing coaster. Passengers get shot out of a tube, going from 0 to 40 in two seconds, then heading into roll after roll, followed by an underwater encounter they'll never forget!
Dr. Doom's Fearfall --
This attraction is not for you if you have a fear of heights. In this amazing attraction, guests are sent on a terrifying journey of 200 feet into the air by Dr. Doom, the most villainous man ever encountered by the Fabulous Four, only to be dropped back to earth in 3 chilling drops.
Kingpin's Arcade --
Children and adults enjoy this area. Play row after row of some of the most challenging video and computer games around.
Now you can interact with some of your favorite Sunday comic strip characters in Toon Lagoon. Visit attractions like Ripsaw Falls, and restaurants like Wimpy's burger joint, and Comic Strip Cafe.
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls --
This attraction is fun for both kids and adults alike. It follows the antics of the famous Canadian Mountie, Dudley Do-Right, in his quest to save his lady love. This ride takes visitors down a huge waterfall in the wildest log flume ride around.
Popeye and Bluto's Bildge-Rat Barges --
Those two crazy characters are at it again...Bluto's got Popeye's sweetie, Olive Oyl! Vistors travel down the white water rapids of Popeye's town to get Olive back to her man. Be prepared to get a little damp....better make that SOAKED!!!
Me Ship, the Olive --
This interactive playground is one of the best attractions for young kids at Islands of Adventure. Kids can do everything, from playing in spouting water to shotting passengers of the Bildge Rat Barges with water cannons. Definitely a must see.
Based on the hit film, this section of IOA is amazing. The entrance arc was duplicated from the film, as was the Discovery Center. The outside of the Discovery Center overlooks the entire lake of IOA.
Jurassic Park River Adventure --
Based on the hit film, this attraction takes guests in riverboats around the complex to see all the new dinosaurs that have been created. But, in true Jurassic Park tradition, something has gone terribly wrong! And the only way out is a 85 foot drop....
Triceratops Encounter --
This is by far one of the most astonishing attractions at IOA! Although geared towards younger children, visitors will enjoy this visually amazing attraction. Guests will visit a vetrinary paddock where dinosaurs are cared for. There they will learn about the history, feeding habits, and migration of the triceratops, and then.....actually come in contact with a triceratops itself!
Jurassic Park Discovery Center --
Taken right out of the movie, the Discovery Center allows guests to get some hands-on practice learning about dinosaurs. Activities include creating a dinosaur, watching the birth of a veloceraptor, and helping care for eggs in the incubator. There is also a restaurant found on the second floor.
Pteranodon Flyers --
Ever dream of flying? Well, in Pteranadon Flyers, you can! Seated beneath the wings of these massive flying wonders, guests travel against the wind and over treetops in a man-made jungle. Great fun for kids.
Camp Jurassic --
This terrific playground area was designed specifically with kids in mind. Children (and their parents too....hehe) will enjoy this area filled with miniature volcanoes and waterfalls, suspension bridges, hidden caves, and much more.
This area is based on myths and legends. Did legends like Merlin and Poseidon really exist? Guests can explore what they believe to be real in this wonderful area of IOA.
Dueling Dragons --
One of the most popular attractions at IOA, Dueling Dragons is the world's first dueling inverted coaster. An inverted coaster is one that has the track above passengers instead of the usual layout. Visitors choose whether to ride the red coaster, Fire, or the blue coaster, Ice. Both giving a thrill ride.
Poseidon's Fury: Escape from the Lost City --
This special effects show is absolutely amazing. It tells of the battle between Poseidon and Zeus for the protection of Atlantis, the Lost City. This show combines visual effects with pyrotechnics and water explosions to give guests the experience of a true battle.
The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad --
This is a fun and exciting stunt show that tells the tale of Sinbad and his crew trying to save a fair damsel. Effects include several falls and a 10 ft. wall of fire.
Seuss Landing is geared more towards younger children. Marvelous attractions take guests into the crazy world of Dr. Seuss. With restaurants like Green Eggs and Ham, and craziness ensuing all around, visitors are sure to have a wonderful time.
The Cat In The Hat --
This attraction is wonderful. Visitors climb aboard couches and get transported through a wild adventure of turns and spins with the most famous Dr. Seuss character of all time. Follow him through his hijinks with Thing One and Thing Two....at least until mom comes home!
Caro-Seuss-el --
Have you ever been on a regular merry-go-round? Well, they just go around and around.....but not the Caro-Seuss-el. Yes it still goes around, but it also rocks up and down! Guests can also control the features of their mount. Some turn their heads, blink their eyes, and even rear back. Loads of fun.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish --
Straight out of the pages of the famous Dr. Seuss book, this attraction puts guests in flying fish, giving them the task of navigating between water cannons trying not to get wet!
If I Ran the Zoo... --
This area is a wonderful interactive play area for children. Animated creatures, jumping spouts of water, and hands-on activities are just some of the exciting things to see.
