My Heart Belongs To You
Many would say dreams don't come true
but I, for one, believe they do.
They ask why I believe this myth,
which I explain by starting with
the simple fact that you are real,
and through this truth I now reveal
an irrefutable and wonderful fact
that, be it luck or a generous act
of fate or God, whichever the case,
nothing ever will conceal or erase
the story of a love so true
as the sweet love shared by me and you.
And to continue this argument's trend
and carry it onward toward its end
I'd tell them then that ours will be
a love that will last for eternity.
And if they doubt this boastful claim
then I shall defend it in the name
of love and passion, equally,
in hopes that they may come to see
that while some loves may come and go
more quickly than the falling snow,
there is no truer love than ours,
as were it written in the stars.
If still they doubt our loves true strength,
then I will go to any length
that I must go to bring to light
the power of our love, and spite
them with this last and final attempt
to prove our love to be exempt
from any skeptics disbelieving
scornful claims wrough by their grieving
over loves they've lost themselves
and put their hearts upon the shelves
along with every other heart
which in the past was torn apart
by losing love, which now they claim
as though to put true love to blame
for all the pain they feel from past
loves they've had that did not last,
are the cause of their agony
and all of their lifes misery.
But what they fail to realize
is, like the stars in midnight skies,
any love that is not true,
as is the love I feel for you,
it may not last for very long
for it simply is not strong
enough to pass the test that fate
brings to make one appreciate
the true value and worth of such
pure, sweet love as ours, and much
to my dismay, I do regret
to say that each hearts fate is set
in stone and can no more be changed
than can the stars be rearranged.
Please do not misunderstand
the actions of the loving hand
of fate or God, by any name,
for despite the losses that you claim
have brought you such emotional pain
and give me time just to explain
the fact that, though it may not seem
to be the case for you and deem
my testimony null and void
or come to be easily annoyed,
for I know how it feels to be
broken hearted and in misery.
Not always has love to me been kind,
and just like you I once was blind
to all the joy that love can bring
so much moreso than anything
that once you have felt such joy
your every ability you will employ
to find and keep it for yourself,
and in so doing, find true wealth.
What you must realize is simply this:
that love in all its wonderous bliss
is meant not for a precious few,
but every heart, including you.
If you are patient and keep hope
and settle never to elope
the first love that seems to be true
eventually true love will find you.
I know this statement to be so
for many times I've had to go
through many seemingly endless trials
and travel nearly countless miles
just to find the love I seek
and keep it strong, and not grow weak.
For love is precious, priceless too
and if you keep your heart open, you
will someday find a love so great
it will lift you up to such a state
of mind that you will never return
to your current train of thought, and yearn
to constantly improve upon
that love and as the days go on
never again will you have any doubt
that true love exists, and forget about
all the pain you've felt in the past
for you will have found at last
a love so true, pure and strong
that nothing in the world can go wrong
enough to bring you down once more
as many things did in the times before
you had this love to keep you well
protected from the wiles of hell
that relentlessly seek to tear apart
the love you feel deep in your heart.
Once you have found love so true,
and deeper than the ocean blue,
then at last you'll come to know
that if you allow this love to grow
then one day it will be so great
that never again will you debate
the love that I feel in my heart,
as it has been right from the start
for the only woman I've ever known
who has captured my heart, my soul, and thrown
away the key that locks the door
and sealed our love forever more.

For your love is sweeter, second to none,
And in love we have bonded, our hearts become one.
All natures power, the world combined,
Could not tear asunder a love so devine.

I once did not believe that love can last forever,

I used to let life pass me by,
alone and lost in dreams
of the love that I had yet to find
and crazy as it seems,
I never truly did believe
that somewhere out there waiting
was a love so true and meant for me,
though my heart was anticipating.
And I used to think love was a lie
and never would come the day
that a girl would walk into my life
and make me want to say
that I'm never gonna let you go,
but love and cherish you always.
Your love has made me realize
that, though love may be blind,
if you still your heart and open up your heart,
then someday you will surely find
that special love that will wash away
all the tears you've cried in sadness
fill your heart and soul with joy,
and replace that pain with gladness.
The love that you have given me
has given my life new meaning.
You have changed my world with your precious love
and given me a new beginning.
Through your sweet and tender love
I have made a brand new start,
and I know with all my heart and soul
that you will always be a part
of the new life I have found in you,
for without you and the love we share

The past is far behind us now
as are all the things we've done,

A single heart is weak and fragile,
Vulnerable to the world outside.
When two hearts join they form a bond,
That nothing can divide.
A lonely heart is a wondering spirit,
A lonely, anguished soul.
Searching for its destined mate,
To ease it's pain and make it whole.
Very seldom do two hearts,
So pure as yours and mine,

To stand the test of time.

So no matter the outcome, I'm turning the page,
No longer fearing what may seem so strange.
A whisper of hope is calling me to come and see,
And I hear it the most when you're near to me.

A destiny filled with love so great?
There's still so much unwritten, so much still untold,
I hang on every word as the plot continues to unfold.
I'm caught up in this novel, can't put it down,
I'm the captive audience to a story that's my own.
It's just the beginning, this is true.

Standing at the threshhold
wanting to take the chance
yet fearful of losing again
in this game of true romance.
I feel deep in my heart
that what we feel is true
so why am I so hesitant
to give my heart to you?
I know I hold the key
to this door deep in my heart
but only you can unlock the door
that leads to our new start.
Only you can give me
the strength to carry on
and venture deeper into this love
before our chance is gone.
And so I put my faith in you
and trust you will be there
to catch me when at last I fall
into the love we'll share.
I'm giving you my heart, my soul,
and the key locked deep inside
and waiting for the precious love
which only you can provide.
So here I stand, my heart now yours
oh so anxious to begin
at long last I reach out,
open the door and let you in...
What is love? Purest devotion?
Or something inspired by a magical potion?
It is a great mystery, this thing we call love,
Much the same as the stars above.
To understand love and know its true nature
One must be aware of the eminent danger
That comes with mistaking true love for lust
And believing that it can survive without trust.
This is a mistake I have made once before,
I thought it was only me she adored.
But soon I discovered that it was all a lie,
So I counted my losses and told her goodbye.
Now I have found what for years I have sought,
And in loneliness and grief, at times had forgot.
My search is now over, my journey at end,
For I know this is real, and not just pretend.
In you I have found what my heart has longed for,
And now, having you, I could ask not for more.
For the love that you give is so sweet and so true,
That I nearly cry when you say "I love you."
The love we have found, and share in our hearts
Will only grow stronger, and shall never part.
For if love is well nurtured, and handled with care
The heaviest burden it can easily bare.
Our love may be young, like a book newly opened,
But the bonds formed by true love can never be broken.
For true love, like wine, grows sweet as it ages.
Our story, now beginning, will have countless pages.
This love tale, though new, and in its first chapter,
Will beyond any doubt end "Happily Ever After..."
As together we grow in our love and Gods glory,
Thus continues our destined never ending love story.
What sound what light through yonder window breaks
Through the very heart of darkness and despair and takes
Away the very breath I breathe
And in my mind I now perceive
That love of love and love of life, and giving without measure
Are truly the most virtuous acts and rewards ones soul with pleasure
And if this also appeals to you

That when we do not share the joy and love we have to give
We waste the very heart of the reason that we live

The power it bestows upon you to bring happiness or pain
Tread carefully for on thin ice you walk in torrential pouring rain

In days not long past I felt

Long ago, when I was young,
Although my life had just begun
I had a dream of love so true
That any trial it could get through.
I made a wish upon a star,
That someday, be it near or far,

feeds the fire blazing in your heart
as it has been from the start.
Having felt a love so great
you truly can appreciate
that if you ever were to find
that this love has left you behind,
alone and lonely, heart broken and sad
you could not live without the love you had
for having felt such love as this
and knowing now what you would miss
if ever it were taken away
to put it lightly, one could say
that life would not be worth a dime
if you found yourself at any time
without this love, and thus you see
that this love must live eternally
lest your heart be broken and torn
and left eternally to mourn
the love that you've forever lost
and be forced, then, to pay the cost
of being careless with a love
so wonderous as the stars above.
So you must make this solemn vow
to, at all cost, no matter how,
keep alive this love you've been given
or from your life it shall be driven
but if you keep this vow always,
even with the passing days
your love will grow as time goes by
and bring such bliss as to make you cry
tears of joy, for in your heart
you know nothing can rend apart
the love your hearts have found together
and this true love will last forever.
Oh what a tangled web we weave
when first we practice to deceive.
This web of lies you spin to hide
all your pain and tears you've cried.
Will serve you well, for now at least
and grant you a moments solace and peace.
But be forewarned, that in due time
you must make penance for this crime.
For, though convenient at the moment
one day your treacherous lies you'll lament.
And pay the price for this sinful guise
and see, at last, it is not wise
to betray the trust of a lover or friend
with the lies you tell when the truth you bend.
When at last the time comes to pay
you'll drop to your knees in terror and pray
to be forgiven for the lies you've told
the price you'll pay: one-hundred fold
the pain you've caused with the lies you've told
to those who trusted you, and you betrayed.
This is the price that will be paid
for your labor of lies, these wages you've earned.
And if you are wise, from this you'll learn
from your mistakes and not repeat
the err of weaving your Web of Deceit.
Cause and effect, chain of events
all of the chaos makes perfect sense
you wonder why the world spins 'round like it does
but as it all boils down, it's only because
one tragedy withstood, one windfall retained
it causes you to realize just how much you've gained.
If we take not the time to appreciate life
And pay heed only to our pain and strife
We deny ourselves life's greatest pleasure
Of living, laughing, and loving together
Tragic it is, yet it happens still
Some know this at birth, and some never will.
That when you ignore your hearts true desire
You pass up the joy that true love can inspire
For true love is the one and only gift
That can make one complete, and the spirit lift.
It can make hearts once broken like new once again
And can bring you a lover, a companion, and friend.
It matters not the time or season
All things do happen for some unknown reason
Strange as it may seem at the time
Lifes tempo follows its own rhythm and rhyme
What matters most is that you learn
From your mistakes, lest you shall burn
In all lifes trials and errors made
One simple rule must be obeyed
We all win some and lose more still
Though which is greater is the Lords will
You must remain faithful and true
To yourself and God in all you do
If a man stands up for what is right
God will see him through his darkest night
For Gods children are as precious to He
as you, my love, are priceless to me
Nothing more do I want in this life
Than to have you, and you only, for my wife
And so I ask you now my love
With all the stars in the heavens above
Will you be my lover and friend for all time
and join me in this union divine?
