Step 3: THE PROCESS

CHECK THE RESOURCES PAGE FOR HELPFUL SITES IN DOING THIS WEB QUEST!

  1. Once you have selected your furniture design, you will need to present in class a detailed description of why you like the style as well as background info explaining the design style and what era the design is from.
  2. With a budget of $5,000.00 you will search the web to acquire your furniture pieces within that design. You will print what you will "buy" and include the measurements of each piece in addition to how much you spent on each item. Be creative! Add area rugs and a plant to your printed version to show your style best.
  3. The measurements of the space is 10 ft. x 14 ft. with two windows on one of the walls at 2 ft. each. A door should also be incorporated. Draw this up on a piece of paper so you can present it to the class. You can get creative by doing a mock-up of the furniture (printed out) that you bought and place it in the room showing how you would arrange it all to fit. (Remember, this can be a bedroom, living room, den, etc.)

For example:
Step 1: After I search the RESOURCES page, I find a website that gives me information in design styles. I select "Modern" as seen in the above photo. I will then give a description about what "Modern" is and as much background info I could find.
Step 2: You will find some helpful furniture buying sites on the RESOURCES page. I will look for furniture that fits the description I have found in step 1. I will then proceed to print the furniture out with measurements. This will help me in the following step (3) to arrange the furniture in the room.
Step 3: Your blueprint should look like this:
