The cell is the structural and functional unit of all known living organisms. It is the smallest unit of an organism that is classified as living, and is sometimes called the building block of life. In cell biology, an organelle is a specialized subunit within a cell, having a specific function, and separately enclosed within its own lipid membrane. In this webquest you will learn about the cell, the basic function of the organelle, and several other interesting topics including microscopes. Use the links below to help identify cells and cell organelle.
