Hebrews 8)

1 Now upon the things which we have spoken this is the main point: We have such a High Priest, Who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty (the highest place of all, the Throne of God) in the heavens; (See Matt. 6:9,10)
2 A minister of the sanctuary (the Holy of Holies. He is it!), and of the true tent, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

8:3-10:18. THE EFFICACY OF CHRIST'S PRIESTHOOD.
N U 8:3-6. A more excellent ministry. A better Covenant on better promises.
V 8:7-13. The Old and New Covenants compared and contrasted.
W 9:1-5. The earthly sanctuary a copy of the heavenly pattern.
      X 9:6-10. The offerings.
U 9:11-14. A greater and more perfect tabernacle. His own blood.
V 9:15-23. The Old and New Covenants compared and contrasted.
W 9:24. The heavenly sanctuary the pattern of the earthly copy.
      X 9:25-10:18. The offerings.

3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this High Priest also have somewhat to offer.
4 For if He were on earth, He would not even be a priest, seeing that there are those who offer gifts according to law:
5 Who serve for the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, "See," says He, that you shall make all things according to the model showed to you in the mount." (Quoted from Ex. 25:40.)
6 But now has He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much He is the Mediator (guarantee. See Gal. 3:19) of a better covenant also which was established upon better promises.

8:7-13. THE OLD AND NEW COVENANTS COMPARED AND CONTRASTED
V Y 7,8. The 1st Covenant faulty.
Z k 9. The New Covenant. Not the same in the persons taking part.
l 10. The New Covenant spiritual.
Z k 11. The New Covenant. Not the same in result.
l 12. The New Covenant spiritual.
   Y 13. The 1st Covenant evanescent.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, He said, "Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when I will consummate (or complete) a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I also disregarded them, says the Lord. (They couldn't follow it.)

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, say the Lord; I will put My laws (evenly and rightly) into their mind, and write them upon their hearts (this one you can follow): and I will be to them for God, and they shall be to Me for People:

11 And they shall not teach each one his fellow-citizen, and each one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest. (This has not happened yet.)

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." (Quoted from Jer. 31:31-34.)

13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is near to vanishing. (See 12:24.)
