Our own, special style

Matthais and I dance a style of Swing that we developed; it's the basic six-count East Coast step (slow-slow-quick-quick), but integrates several Lindy moves. We do not use the right-hand break, but stay together on the last two counts of the beat. Our posture is different, that is, not quite the same as the general East Coast hip/torso form. We stand relatively upright, but with bent knees, bent elbows, and slightly bent at the waist.

We have developed a few original moves, such as our double dip and our basic lift. We also use a few that were taught to me when I began dancing. There's "the move" and circles.

In short, he and I combine Lindy and East Coast, with West Coast influences. People like our style and ask us to teach it to them.
