This photo was taken during my colleague, Joyce's birthday.  Just like in Malaysia, in GZ every occasion is celebrated with FOOD!!!  Glorious food!!  We have Dicky, Joyce, Crystal, Tina and Kent in the pic.

big bouquet of roses! 

Crystal and I went to get this bouquet for her and it was first quoted as RMB400.  After some negotiation, we got it for RMB280.  
But both of us still couldn't afford to pay coz we didn't have sufficient cash and the ATM nearby wasn't working.  The florist eventually sent the flowers to our office. 

 This lesson taught me never to tell a florist to just wrap up some flowers with the paper and ribbon of your choice, instead tell him your budget!! Otherwise, you will definitely be ripped off!!!  BTW, the paper cost RMB10 each.  The smart florist used the paper generously.  When he showed the bill, for paper alone, we were charged RMB90!!!!!!
