Mary Ann (Parnall) Dennis
She was born on March 7th, 1838. She married John Dinnis but the name was later changed to Dennis. He was born in Flanders, St. Gennys, England in 1831. They later followed their son William to Canada who was the founder of the family in Nova Scotia. They made their home in Stewiacke. He died January 20, 1904, aged 73, of pneumonia and was buried in Middle Stewiacke, N. S. She died April 19, 1917, in her eightieth year at the home of her son William at Halifax, N. S. They had sixteen children. The names of two are unknown. One of these was born shortly after their arrival in Canada and died in infancy as far as could be remembered. Outside of farming no record of any other occupation has been known. They were quite religious, he having written a book "A Revelation from God" and published by his son John Albert Parnall Dennis, The Enterprise Publishing Co., New Glasgow, Novia Scotia, 1895. A brother of John was said to have settled in Nebraska, U. S. A.
