A little bragging about Mike:
from the Napa Sentinal
A few years ago a proposal was
made to convert Alston Park into ball fields. The Council deferred action
on this item until it could be learned if other areas could support ball
fields. Mike made a tremendous effort to research all areas and came up
with an affordable plan - including volunteer labor, which required a Charter
Amendment - to build scores of new ball fields from Ridgeview and Silverado,
to lands south of the Meadows. Some fields were put into play right away
and Mike also saw the sensitiveness of O'Brien Park and Alston Park. Without
Mike and his go-get-em approach, the youth sports community would have
a very difficult time scheduling games and finding fields that were not
in disarray.
Go Dad...you rule!
