In this section of my site you will find information, stories, links, penpals, and clubs about kids who have to get a shot every day. My sister inspired me to make this page because now she has to get a shot every day! The reason is that she doesn't grow fast enough and has to get injections of growth hormone. Hopefully you will find something that interests you!

My Sister's Story

I have always been very short, but I never thought a lot about it. Then my mom started taking me to the hospital every once in a while. At first I was scared, but eventually I got used to the visits. They would weigh me, measure me, take my blood preassure, and sometimes do weird things like cat-scans! Then, about a week ago, my mom told me that I would have to take medicine for me to grow. She didn't tell me it would be a shot because she knew I wouldn't sleep or eat I would be so scared! Yesterday she took me to the hospital and told me I needed a shot. I was really scared! At the hospital they taught us how to do the injections. Everyone in my family gave someone else in the family a shot. Even my 11 year old sister! Then it was my turn. I took a deep breath, and my daddy gave me the shot. It stung a little, and I yelled. The reason it stung was because it hadn't been warmed up, but I was still afraid of it. Then tonight my family gave me my second shot. I was ssoooooo scared! My family warmed it up, but I was crying so hard and so upset it took them awhile to give it to me. It really didn't hurt that much at all, but I still screamed. Hopefully I can soon get used to this shot thing! :)
