Basic Skills for Web Publishing

Welcome to Holmesglen TAFE's Short Course program for 2002. By the end of this course, you should have your very own homepage up and running on the Web, which we'll build as we go. Along the way, you'll learn about:

1. The Web itself, search engines, Web browsers and other online resources
2. The basics of HTML, what it is and what it can do
3. Some fundamentals of Web page design
4. An introduction to Microsoft's Frontpage site design tool
5. Creating and editing images for use on the Web
6. Basic skills in Adobe Photoshop
7. Effective writing and communication on the Web
8. Using free web hosts such as Yahoo's Geocities

And hopefully a fair bit more besides.

We're a small group, so we can take this course at whatever pace suits you. If you feel like I'm going too fast for you, talk to me and we can spend more time. Conversely, if you're after more of a challenge, let me know. Let's make what you learn relevant to your situations - I want to make sure you get what you want from this course!
