I Want It My Way!

Have you ever wondered why God does not do things the way that you would do them? Why is it that he is never in a hurry or pressed by the urgency of the hour?

Any trial that a believer may face can ultimately bring glory to God because God can bring good out of any bad circumstance(Romans 8:28). He meets needs according to his schedule. The great question of the hour is this: will we wait for his perfect timing? Are we willing to be changed to be part of God's plan?

If we were to be continually bailed out of difficult situation after difficult situation by our own ways, there would be no reason to change. No reason to become more like Christ. There would be no reason to trust that God's plans are best.

Thank You Lord that Your plans are best. Please give each of us willing hearts - to follow You. Help each of us trust You and seek Your direction with our whole hearts. Thank You that as we do this we'll share in Your plan and become more like You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

How Much Faith Is Enough?
From Martin R. De Haan II, President of RBC Ministries
"Do I Have the Right Kind of Faith?"

Matthew 17:20     I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

How much faith does a person need to:

In each of these cases, you might feel fear or confidence to some degree. But would those emotions be accurate indicators of faith? You could be terrified and yet decide to parachute out of an airplane. Or you could feel very confident and yet decide not to jump into thin air. Faith is more than a feeling.

Faith is primarily a decision to entrust ourselves to something or someone, based on available information. This decision involves the knowledge of essential facts, a personal acceptance of those facts as true and valuable, and a commitment to act in accordance with those facts.

For example, how much faith would it take for you to cross a footbridge over a canyon? First, you would collect some basic facts by visually evaluating the structural reliability of the bridge. Then, if you concluded that it was safe, you would cross the bridge.

Biblical faith operates in much the same way. First, you must learn from the Bible basic information about God, man, sin, and Christ (Acts 10:34-43; Rom. 10:17). Then, once you realize that these facts are true and that they demand a personal response, you must make a decision to believe what God has said and to trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of forgiveness and eternal life (Jn. 10:9; Acts 20:21).

So, how much faith is enough? To answer this, consider the following questions: Do you know the basic information about God, man, sin, and Christ? Have you recognized your hopeless condition without Jesus Christ? Have you accepted His offer of rescue? Have you responded in trust and obedience? If you have answered yes to each of these questions, your faith is enough.

You may ask, though, about the amount of faith you need after you have put your trust in Christ for salvation. Do you have to have great faith in God to get you through the trials of life?

Again the answer is found in whether or not your faith is in the right object. Christ told His disciples that faith in God, even if it was the size of a mustard seed, would be enough to move a mountain (Mt. 17:20). The amount of faith is not the issue, it's the object of our faith that determines its effectiveness.

Thank You Lord that You have given each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3). Show each of us how to use the faith we have. Continue reminding us that it only takes a mustard seed of faith to 'move mountains'. Help each of us share the faith that we have with others. Thank You that as we do this our faith will continue to grow. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Faith & Peace
Doris Haase

John 16:33     These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.

One Sunday long ago our pastor spoke to the congregation about faith and "everyday miracles". I have never forgotten that sermon, because its message has helped me so many times through the years.

"Once I lost a very important letter", he said, "that the bishop had given me to answer. I searched everywhere for it. I turned the place upside down, to no avail. At last, disturbed and tense, I was forced to give up. But before going to bed, I prayed. ‘Dear Jesus, please help me find the letter’. Then a great sense of peace came over me. I relaxed and fell asleep instantly. In the morning, refreshed, I walked into my office, pulled the desk out from the wall and looked behind it. There, wedged between desk and wall, was the letter. Now, two miracles had taken place. Which was greater? Finding the letter? No, it was the peace-filled sleep. You see, by turning the problem over to Jesus, I was able to rest in faith".

Today whenever a problem causes me to toss and turn in my bed, I remember the sermon, and practice its lesson.

"Dear Jesus, help me …"

And when I do that, I too am blessed by that "everyday miracle". My heart is at rest in faith, and I relax and fall asleep.

Who's Right?

Psalm 46:10     Be still, and know that I am God...

Four retired ministers were constantly arguing and usually it was the same three against the same one. They had done this since their days in seminary.

On one particular occasion Mr. Smith was convinced that he was right so he decided to appeal to a higher authority. "Dear God," he prayed, "I know in my heart that I am right. Please give us a sign so that these other three dear colleagues will know that I am right."

It was a glorious clear day, but at his request, a dark ominous cloud rolled across the sky.

"So?" said the rest, "What does that prove?"

The next day they had yet another argument, and again it was the same three against the Rev. John Smith. Again Mr. Smith asked for a sign. Again, it was a bright clear day.

This time a dark cloud rolled ominously across the sky and ZAP!!! a lightening bold streaked down and a tree at the edge of the orchard exploded in flames.

"So?" the rest shrugged in unison, "What does that prove? It's still three to one."

The third day there was another argument and the same division of opinion. Again Mr. Smith asked for a sign, "And please, dear Lord," he prayed, "make it a very specific sign!"

Again, it was a clear day and again a dark and ominous thundercloud appeared. Again there was thunder and lightening. THIS TIME though a heavenly finger pointed at the Rev. Mr. Smith and a booming heavenly voice intoned, John Smith is right!

"So?" shrugged the rest, "that just means it's three to two."

Prayer is NOT getting God on our side in an argument.
Prayer is not an attempt to change God's mind on something.

We must always remember that prayer is NOT just us talking and expecting God to listen; prayer is us keeping quiet so we can hear God speaking. Prayer is trusting that God will change us and strengthen us to be able to receive the answer; if we are patient.

______

Luke 18:1     Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Jesus tells us to persist in prayer and not to give up, this must be balanced with waiting, listening & obeying God's answer even if it's not something we expect, understand or want.

Lord help each of us always to remember to always take time to 'be still' and listen for Your answer. Thank You Lord that You answer is always best. In the name of Jesus Chrsit.

Dance Anyway

Romans 8:28-29    And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

1 Thessalonians 5:18    ... in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

"Someone once said, "Life is what really happens on your way to your dreams." In other words, things don't always go as we plan them, do they? Because parents grow old, and relationships get broken, children go a different way, life can get painful, and you and I forget to dance."

The Lord calls us to give thanks no matter what even when it's not our plan, even when it hurts, even when it doesn't make sense, even when we don't understand the words. He invites us to dance anyway and teaches us the steps. He invites us to trust Him no matter what!

Giving thanks and dancing anyway inspite of circumstances isn't easy, it's the probably last thing you feel like doing. That's where real faith comes in. When trying circumsatnces surround you and you want to give up, that's really when we need to dance. That's when we need to turn to the Lord in trust and believe the promise that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord. We need to reach out for His Hand let Him take the lead and keep dancing.

Thank You Lord that You can bring good out of any circumstance. Help each of us to continue to reach out for Your lead, give thanks and dance - no matter what. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Showing Through
From InHis.com

2 Corinthians 3:18     And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with everincreasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

A little girl, on the way home from church, turned to her mother and said, "Mommy, the preacher's sermon this morning confused me."

The mother said, "Oh! Why is that?"

The girl replied, "Well, he said that God is bigger than we are. Is that true?"

Yes, that's true," the mother replied.

"He also said that God lives within us. Is that true, too?"

Again the mother replied, "Yes."

"Well," said the girl; "if God is bigger than us and he lives in us, wouldn't he show through?"

Jesus My Song

Psalm 40:2-3     He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

So what is this 'new song' the Lord puts in your mouth? Look at v2 before the new song is put in your mouth. Your feet must be set on a rock before the new song is put in your mouth. Who is the 'Rock'?

1 Corinthians 3:11     For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the firm foundation - the rock on which you stand before the 'new song' is sung! So what is the 'new song'?

Revelation 5:9     And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Revelation 14:3     And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

Have you ever meditated about this new song? What are the words? What is the melody? What is it all about? The NEW SONG is a song not sung before, and then only the hundred and forty four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth can learn the song.

When we are living and walking with the Lord and He is our all in all, we shall sing this new song. To sing a song we have to have words and a melody. But this new song comes straight from heaven above, and no man will be writing it, because the NEW SONG is already written -- it is JESUS CHRIST. The following song states this very well.

You Are The Song That I Sing

You are the words and the music
You are the song that I sing
You are the melody
You are the harmony
Praise to Your name I will bring
You are the Lord of lords
You are the mighty God
You are the King of all kings
So now I give back to You
The song that You gave to me
You are the song that I sing

Jesus Christ is the New Song. What a privilege and honor to sing the Lord's Song. By doing God's will, by sharing what the Lord shows us, and by simply manifesting Him in our lives, we are singing His song.

The New Song is the revealing of Jesus Christ, the song that I sing is my Lord Jesus Christ. Let us give thanks to God the Father that there is a NEW SONG -- the Word of God -- Christ Jesus.

For Saundra; Sam; Ruth; Gloria; Melody; Jeanette; Grace; Glen; Evelyn; Cindy; Chris; Bryony; Gina; Alice; Charlene ; Phil; Karen; Valerie; Ian; Irene; Linda; Billie; Nubia & Brenda

Carol, Beth Anne, Bob & Betty, Pam

Thank You Lord for Your Son Jesus - our 'new song'. Help each of us find that firm place to stand - upon the rock. Thank You that as each of us stands on the firm foundation of Christ our lives will sing this 'new song' and Jesus Christ will be revealed. AMEN

"Come now let us reason together," Says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

In His Hands

Tragedy strikes so suddenly
Changing all our plans;
More than ever we realize
Our lives are in His hands:
Hands - so strong and mighty,
Protect us day by day,
Guarding our hearts and minds
When troubles come our way.
Hands - so warm and loving,
Strengthen and give release,
In the midst of the raging battle
There's a deep settled peace.
Hands - so comforting and caring
Undergird in our darkest hour,
Carrying us through rough waters
As we rest in sovereign power.
Father, thank You for holding us securely
In Your strong omnipotent Hands;
Help us to submit completely
To Your perfect will and plans.

Job 12:10     In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Isaiah 49:16     See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

Isaiah 41:10     So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I heard from T.J. He sounded good and said he was about 20 miles west of Bagdad. By 8:00am in Iraq, he said it was hot like sitting on a hot engine and the air was like the exhaust of a hot engine. Can't imagine how it will be by mid-afternoon. The tent he is assigned to has an airconditioning problem so they're not sure were to put him til it is fixed. Other wise all is well, he has his laptop with him and there are internet connections available on base so we can at least communicate through e-mail. Please continue to pray as he starts going out on patrols right away.

You Are So Good To Me

Psalm 5:11     Let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Philippians 4:4     Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

So how do you do this? Rejoice ALWAYS? The Lord gave me a clue recently. This song played a big part in it - it ministered to me in a very special way.

**************************
You Are So Good To Me
Third Day

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
And I will sing again

You are so good to me
You heal my broken heart
You are my Father in Heaven
You are so good to me
You heal my broken heart
You are my Father in Heaven

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song
And I will sing again

You ride upon the clouds
You lead me to the Truth
You are the Spirit inside me
You ride upon the clouds
You lead me to the Truth
You are the Spirit inside me

You are my strong melody, yeah
You are my dancing rhythm
You are my perfect rhyme
And I will sing of You forever

You poured out all Your blood
You died upon the cross
You are my Jesus who loves me
You poured out all Your blood
You died upon the cross
You are my Jesus who loves me

You are my Father in Heaven
You are the Spirit inside me
You are my Jesus who loves me

****************

Rejoicing/ singing was the last thing I felt like doing. That feeling of being in a storm, it closing in on you, darkness starting to surround you. I was there for awhile. I finally ended up deciding in my mind that I would sing to the Lord no matter what - I would worship Him no matter what - because Jesus is my sweet, sweet song. This thought came from the above song. I then began to sing out loud Jesus is my sweet, sweet song - over & over and putting in "I will sing again". As I sang "I will sing again", I'm thinking - even if it looks like there is nothing to sing about , even if 'men' tell me I can't sing, even if my voice is not perfect, .... even when surrounded by darkness in a storm ... Jesus is my sweet sweet song forever....

A sense of peace filled my heart. I was left with the idea that this is what I have to do - sing with JOY to the Lord no matter what - especially when in a storm! Worship is a key in facing any storm we are in!

I did sing on sunday - and there was joy in the Lord. God IS so good. Guess what title on the bulletin was:

Let them ever sing for joy...
that those who love thy name may exult in Thee.

The sermon was on phillipians. Rejoice in the Lord always!! Again I say rejoice.

This is very close to sing no matter what!!! :):):)

This isn't the end of the story! Last night I asked my daughter if she knew the song "You Are So Good To Me". I couldn't remember how anything but the refrain went. So I sang to her what I sang in the midst of my storm. Guess what she says?! You are singing a different song, you just made that song up. God really is so good to me. He gave me a sweet sweet song {Jesus} that I can sing forever with joy and somehow it's my very own.

Lord Move, or Move Me
by Jeromy Diebler

I can't find the words to pray
I'm a little down today
Can You help me?
Can You hold me?
I feel a million miles away
And I don't know what to say
Can You hear me...anyway?

What I need
Is for You to reach out Your hand
You have taught me
No matter what You'd understand

Chorus:
Lord move in a way
That I've never seen before
'Cause there's a mountain in the way
And a lock on the door
I'm drifting away
Waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord move...move, or move me
-----

Have you ever felt like this? Surrounded by a storm, it closing in on you? I was feeling this way this morning. Then I heard the above song. It reminded me that Jesus doesn't always stop the storm by His command "Peace Be Still" (Mark 4:39). Sometimes He commands us to "Be Still and KNOW" (Psalm 46:10) in the midst of the storm. He is the calm IN the storm. He won't leave us or foresake us in the storm. How do you "Be Still and KNOW" when surrounded by a storm? This song reminded me that I need to surrender to the Lord and then wait for Him to move. For me, singing praise to the Lord is how I do this - not always easy in the midst of a storm - it may be the last thing you feel like doing. I did just that this morning and found my calm in the midst of my storm.

Deuteronomy 31:6     Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Psalm 27:14     Wait for the LORD ; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

For Saundra; Sam; Ruth; Gloria; Melody; Jeanette; Grace; Glen; Evelyn; Cindy; Chris; Bryony; Gina; Alice; Charlene ; Phil; Karen; Valerie; Ian; Irene; Linda; Billie; Nubia & Brenda

Carol, Beth Anne, Bob & Betty, Pam

Thank You Lord that You are our peace and strength in any storm. Help each of us to surrender and wait patiently for You to move. Thank You that as we do this each will have Your calm, Your peace, as we wait for You to move. In the name of Jesus Christ.

The Desert and the Rose

Life is filled with deserts. But take heart - there is much hope in this promise. In fact tremendous spiritual growth can happen in the midst of our dry desert. I have found this to be especially true. With God we can look forward to a period of richness and EXTREME joy if we rest in the knowledge that "this too shall pass". God is with us.

Isaiah 51:3     Indeed, the LORD will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And her wilderness He will make like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in her, Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.

Amongst flowers the rose is deemed the sweetest, but Jesus is infinitely more beautiful in the garden of the soul than the rose can be in the gardens of earth. Let Jesus into your dry desert heart. Let this blessed rose take root and bloom there forever.

The Desert Rose

Desert rose, whose beauty shines
Grows in a most unlikely place.
In the hottest heat this rose is born.
Like gold in the furnace tried, refined.
The petals unfurl, ever so slowly
Against the blast of heat and wind.
For this beauty is born in storms
Against the greatest of odds
Where all is dry, barren, wasted - dying
From lack of water
The desert rose not only blooms
but thrives.
The sweet beauty, the miracle of the desert rose
doesn't dare to compare
to the heart where
Jesus has taken root
and is blooming.

Thank You Lord that You are with us - especially in the desert. Help each of us look forward to the blooming of the rose in the midst of our deserts. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

Streams in the Desert

Isaiah 35:6-7     For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water.

What is a desert? It is generally defined as an arid, barren land. Land that is excessively dry; it lacks interest and life. That which is barren is fruitless, unresponsive, lacking, dull, and bare.

Have you ever felt like this? David, while in the wilderness of Judah did.

Psalm 63:1     O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Imagen walking in a desert, you are hot, dry and extremely thirsty. Your whole being is crying out for water. Continue walking and imagen you see a river - you rush to it and drink. The water is cool and refreshing.

Jesus is like that - He is the living water. Maybe you've been in that 'dry place' - or maybe you're there now. Hang on to these promises! Keep seeking Jesus, the living water, the source of life, for He promises this water to anyone who thirsts. Only He can make streams burst forth in a desert, a wasteland.

Revelation 21:6     He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

John 7:38     Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.

For Saundra; Sam; Ruth; Gloria; Melody; Jeanette; Grace; Glen; Evelyn; Cindy; Chris; Bryony; Gina; Alice; Charlene ; Phil; Karen; Valerie; Ian; Irene; Linda; Billie; Nubia & Brenda

Carol, Beth Anne, Bob & Betty, Pam

Jeremiah 29:13     Thank You Lord that Jesus is the living water, a river that will never run dry. Help each of us hang on to these promises. Thank You that as each of us earnestly seek You, we will find You and be refreshed.

The Word

2 Peter 1:20-21     Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Where did Scripture come from? What is the basis of our faith in the Bible and the Gospel? Peter wants us to realize that the prophets of ancient times didn't bake up their own private recipes for their prophecies. Instead, they could only move and respond to what God was doing in them, not what they themselves wanted to do or say. They were human, but their message was God's word because the Holy Spirit moved them to speak and guided their words. This makes what we have in Scripture from the prophets more than precious: we are given the very words of God!

2 Timothy 3:16-17     All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Here we see the divine and human merged to form the Bible - the written Word. Where else do we see the divine and human merged?

Jesus Christ - the living Word!!

The Word Became Flesh
John 1:1     In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Thank You Lord for Your Word - both written and living. Please use Your Word to ignite a whole new revival in each of our hearts. In the name of Jesus Christ.

The Word Became Flesh
John 1:1     In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

************************************************

Revelation 19:10     At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

************************************************

The angel offers one last interpretation: For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (v. 10). The form of the pronouncement matches exactly that of the interpretation given in verse 8 (literally, "for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints"). The apparent meaning is that those who have the testimony of Jesus--the angel, John and John's brothers (fellow believers)--are all prophets. Prophets are bearers of the word of God, and in this book "the word of God" and "the testimony of Jesus" are inseparable (see 1:2, 9; 20:4). We learn now that the testimony of Jesus is not only a message about Jesus but also a message from Jesus the risen Lord. His is the one voice behind the many prophetic and angelic voices echoing through the pages of this book. So the testimony of Jesus is the spirit or essence of Christian prophecy. Whether it is also "the spirit of the prophecy," referring to the book of Revelation itself (1:3; 22:7, 18-19), is more difficult to say (it does have the definite article in Greek). If it is, then the testimony of Jesus is virtually equivalent to the title "revelation of Jesus Christ" at the beginning of the book (1:1). In any event, we have finally come to know the "angel" so mysteriously introduced in the opening verse of the book. Angels and humans function together here as prophets, just as their voices join together in John's visions in the worship and praise of God.

Four Candles
-- Author Unknown

Colossians 1:4-6     because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints-- 5the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth.

The Four Candles burned slowly. Their Ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak...

The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit."

Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

The second candle says, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable."

Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer." "People put me aside and don't understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them."

And waiting no longer, Love goes out completely.

Suddenly...

A child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning.

The child begins to cry, "Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the end."

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy, "Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light the other candles."

With Shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope and lit the other three candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your life.

With Hope, no matter how bad things look and are...Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly in our lives.

Romans 5:5     And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Romans 12:12     Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Hebrews 6:19     We have this hope (Jesus Christ) as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure...

Romans 15:13     Thank You Lord that Jesus Christ is the anchor of our soul - our hope. May the God of hope fill each of us with all joy and peace as we trust in Him, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Fellowship

What is fellowhip? Fellowship is a building up, encouraging, and equipping of the body in Christ, by the body of Christ.

Hebrews 10:25     Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  1. Why should we fellowship?

Proverbs 27:17     As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Matthew 18:20     For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.

Eccl 4:12     Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

  2. What does fellowship involve?

Acts 2:42     They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Galatians 6:2     Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Colossians 3:16     Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Matthew 22:37-40     Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

For Saundra; Sam; Ruth; Gloria; Melody; Jeanette; Grace; Glen; Evelyn; Cindy; Chris; Bryony; Gina; Andrew; Alice; Charlene ; Phil; Karen; Valerie; Ian; Irene; Linda; Billie; Nubia & Brenda

Thank You Lord for the body of Christ. Help us to continue encouraging and building each other up in Jesus.

    Give God the Eraser

    Isaiah 49:1     Listen ... unto me ...

How good are you at listening for God's plan? How flexible are you? How willing are you to change your plans to follow the Lord's plan?

This is a common slogan I've often seen practiced in business today.

PLAN YOUR WORK. WORK YOUR PLAN.
Along with this philosphy usually comes targets for each week, each month, even each decade. Everyone is focussed on the target and accomplishing targets & goals. It’s pressure, pressure, pressure, all are driven to complete "the plan". Usually the turnover among staff at a place like this is high.

I have a friend whose office has a completely different mood. Employees, from clerks to top executives, take pride in their work and take time to express this pride. What's his secret? He listens. How different - from trying to mold events toward some present outcome. My friend prays, then stays flexible, holding each decision up to God to hear what He may be saying.

We can all learn to hear God in our undertakings - but only if our own plans take second place to His.

Write your plans in pencil and give God the eraser!

For Saundra; Sam; Ruth; Gloria; Melody; Jeanette; Grace; Glen; Evelyn; Cindy; Chris; Bryony; Gina; Andrew; Alice; Charlene ; Phil; Karen; Valerie; Ian; Irene; Linda; Billie; Nubia & Brenda

Carol, Beth Anne, Bob & Betty, Pam

Lord keep each of us open to Your leading. Let each of us be flexible enough to give You the eraser and put You in first place in our hearts. In the name of Jesus Christ.
