Following are several descriptions of the "ethical personalities" of various individuals. Pick the one that most fits you, realizing that you are probably a mixture of these descriptions (there is no "good or bad" one - they're just different). Type a short essay (500 to 600 words) explaining why the description you chose is like you, using specific examples when applicable.
A. This person has formed a very firm, internal code of what is right or wrong and follows this code in every situation. Their decisions may not always be easy, but this person is sure they are always correct and will stand by their beliefs.
B. This person bases their ideas of what is right or wrong on group loyalties - loyalty to one's family, friends, nation, etc. They define what is right or wrong in terms of what society believes or what the law requires. If they think something is wrong but the society around them says it is right, they will be loyal to their society.
C. This person defines right or wrong in terms of what authority figures (parents, police, clergy, bosses, teachers) say is right or wrong or in terms of what results in rewards and punishments. This person has an easy time making decisions.
D. This person has a well thought-out set of ethical standards but has a difficult time applying them to various situations and tends to delay making decisions and then second-guesses herself.
E. This person has no definite set of ethical standards but instead looks at each situation based on a universal point of view - a decision that takes everyone's interest into account. They don't always follow group loyalties but try to promote justice, human rights or human welfare. They tend to look on the side of "common good" instead of individual rights.
